Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee

Ingredients

instant coffee taste
ground coffee taste
cocoa taste

Cooking method

  • Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee
  • Take an empty glass coffee jar, fill it 2/3 full with instant coffee, whichever you like best. Fill the remaining 1/3, half with ground coffee (I have 3 measuring spoons from a coffee maker), the other half of the remaining 1/3 - cocoa (the same 3 measuring spoons from a coffee maker).
  • Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee
  • It is better to take ground coffee with the finest grind, like an oriental Jockey, and I specifically buy decaffeinated ground coffee in order to at least slightly reduce the dose of caffeine in the mixture. Cocoa can be taken such as "Golden Label", and if you put sugar in coffee, then you can pour Nesquik or something similar to it, then you don't have to add sugar to coffee.
  • We close the jar with a lid and twist it in all directions, stirring our mixture evenly. That's it, now in the morning you don't need to mix anything, opened the jar, poured a spoon, poured boiling water over and enjoy the awakening, but at the same time soft drink. As a rule, for lovers of coffee with milk, you can also add a little milk powder to the mixture, but my husband prefers liquid portioned cream, which is why our coffee-kao does not have this ingredient.

The dish is designed for

two coffee cans

Time for preparing:

very fast 3-5 min

Cooking program:

pens, spoon, jar

Note

The idea of this drink, or, more correctly, a mixture, was inspired by a long-standing TV show about Tatyana Vedeneeva. About 10 years ago, when she had a long break from work on TV, an interview with her was published, where she, in particular, told about the fact that she drinks coffee with the addition of cocoa in the morning, which she and her daughter called, if my memory serves me right, "ka-coffee". The name, in contrast to the composition, somehow I didn't like it right away and I probably remembered it due to this dissonance.
And relatively recently, maybe three years ago, instant coffee with some ground content appeared on sale, and the prices for such coffee are not measured today.
The question may arise why I interfere with these three components. Let me explain: I add ground coffee to correct the taste of instant coffee. Since when you drink only whole-grain coffee, even trying instant coffee is a big challenge, the question often arises: is this product made from coffee ... And I add cocoa to soften the bitter coffee taste and give some velvety taste to the whole mixture.
I myself hardly drink coffee, and if I drink, then only custard. And my husband loves to drink a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, to brew even in a coffee maker (we have four, of different types) he is too lazy, our age is no longer for children, some already drink pressure pills, and they continue to drink the same coffee. And all this together led me to create this mixture.
The proportions of instant coffee, ground coffee and cocoa, I have given those that I do for my husband.
You can vary them as you like best to your liking. I think if you try to mix at first just in a cup, choosing the taste that is pleasant for you and, accordingly, the proportions, then quickly determine your ratio of components. Have a nice morning and not only coffee

I add ground coffee to correct the instant taste.
So can just do without soluble and that's it? To be honest, I will not drink soluble even in such a mixture. And I'll try to add cocoa to the young one.
Mandraik Ludmila
Barbara, I wrote in the comments, I'm doing it for my husband, he is lazy to make coffee for himself, it's easier for him to bang a spoon into a cup and pour boiling water over it.Otherwise, we have a French press, a geyser coffee maker, an espresso coffee machine, and a Turk, everything is there, some have no desire to do it

And I, for example, cannot drink real, grain. So I have to sip instant, and even with milk. Maybe try the mixture. It didn't even occur to me
Irgata
I've been making myself a mixture of cocoa powder + ground coffee + cinnamon + ginger for a long time
I brew in different ways, either in a big turk or in a thermos

the husband does not drink ground coffee, he is poisoned with a solvent, he has a can of a solvent and a separate jar + instant cocoa, more often Aristocrat hot chocolate in its different forms

And for me, for example, I cannot drink real, grain
ersatz is possible, chemical rubbish, but natural not?
filirina
And in our small shops with coffee and tea on sale there is grain coffee sprinkled with cocoa powder. They grind and brew with you. Delicious.
Mandraik Ludmila
Ksenia, try it, it might work. My husband drinks several cups in the morning, although I was able to teach him to chicory, and he tries not to drink more than 3 cups of coffee, replace the rest with chicory. If milk is added to chicory, then the taste is practically indistinguishable from instant coffee. But chicory causes increased gas formation in me, therefore I don't drink at all, but my husband is fine
Irochka, here all the men are "the same" I'm not lazy either, I brew myself natural coffee, only I like it more in a geyser or in a French press, for the company and my husband can drink. True, after a while my taste "spoiled", the coffee began to taste bitter to me, but I found myself a "Guard French", which is "Naturella" in the picture, it is light roasted and does not taste bitter to me at all, well, sometimes I buy Finnish light roasts. And I can't do Italian and German at all, but the hotter the better for my husband
filirina, here's a great idea!
gawala
My mom can't be kfoe at all. I bring her either soluble barley-rye-chicory, or to cook rye-barley. She really likes it with milk ..

In our area there is no such thing .. Austrians drink tons of coffee, but natural .. Instant is represented by Jacobs and Nescafe, Hag, something else .. not rich choice ...

Lud, you will not believe, in our house my husband makes coffee in the morning! In a geyser coffee maker with auto-shutdown, it is true, but voluntarily, and for me too. The main word here is auto shutdown! Otherwise it would have been bitter ...
And we only drink natural coffee, buy instant coffee a couple of sticks and then only when Baileys wants to bungle.
Mandraik Ludmila
Galina, it’s even strange that such a limited choice, which we do not have, and Brazil, and Colombia, and India, I’m not talking about Europe, but everything good is well worth it Here is my favorite French for 250 grams of ground - 850 rubles cost two months ago ...
Irochka, you are right - the "magic" keyword is auto-shutdown, and we have a geyser for gas or induction, you need to watch out ... This is not a man's business
gawala
Quote: Mandraik Ludmila
what we have
Yes, I know ... I come home, I see that the price is on sale too .. Soluble yes, here is what I wrote above. Grain or ground The same Jacobs, something else, Italy Lavazza, some other Italian. From Chibo there. I have never seen Brazil .. Colombia too ..
I have specifically, self-roasted, we buy green grain and I myself fry in a roaster. Kenya, Brazil, Guatemala, Colombia, Ethiopia. all mono varieties.
Elena-Liza
And I add cocoa to an ordinary drip coffee maker. For two cups - two dessert spoons of cocoa and two dessert spoons of ground coffee. With a coffee machine, this number will not work. At the dacha we drink coffee cocoa. We like.
Mandraik Ludmila
Elena, oh, you drink half and half, the husband has too much cocoa salt, the husband needs it hotter, and the cocoa softens the taste very much.
DonnaRosa
I love hot chocolate, in winter, when it's cold and sad.Have a topic about hot chocolate or should I post my own recipe, but I don't have a photo?

Well, in the theses. let's get a short recipe .. I also respect hot chocolate ..
Mandraik Ludmila
DonnaRosa, of course, let's take a picture and arrange it separately! The recipe in the studio!

In short: I dissolve chocolate pieces in hot milk on the fire, I like bitter black, you can add a spoonful of cocoa, a little sugar, if anyone needs it, and add brandy, too, as much as anyone wants. I love this business, all together - such harmony!
Mandraik Ludmila
DonnaRosa, oh yes, it's interesting with brandy, you have to try it. And then I only sometimes add cognac or balm to coffee

And the husband does not add to the cup, but pours it into the glass and drinks
DonnaRosa
Mandraik LudmilaChocolate is not the main thing for my husband, as for us, ladies.

Irina, every time you prepare a small amount for a one-time brewing or, as a topic's top starter, prepare the mixture in a separate jar?
If possible, then at least an approximate ratio of ingredients?
Yesterday I just read the magazine VOKRUG Sveta №8 2016, because it contains the theme of the issue - COFFEE. There are many interesting facts, including about mixing coffee, cinnamon, ginger and other things.
The magazine in .pdf is available for download on the Internet. Find, read, interesting.
Irgata
Victor, a mixture of coffee-ginger-cinnamon (cardamom, etc.) is mixed in a can, and I add cocoa according to my mood

I read about cocoa coffee in the magazine * Science and Life * in the magazine * Science and Life *, although then I was strained either with coffee or with cocoa, but I liked it right away, but with the then still natural condensed milk

our, Shadrinskaya condensed milk, was famous for its quality
Wiktor
Yeah ... I'm straining with condensed milk ... I agree. No matter how I take something that has not been tested, it will definitely curl up in boiling water.
Even Rogachevskaya has gone strange now - I call it lumpy ... I scooped up a spoon from the jar, so the hole remains, does not spread, does not even out even at room temperature.
In Coins they sell normal condensed milk, a blue-red jar with an opener and a plastic lid. Convenient - opened the lid and closed the complete plastic one.

And what about condensed milk from Korenovka, they brought me straight from there, I sometimes poured it into coffee, never curled up and was in a soft package, very convenient.
Coffee-kao, or not quite instant coffee
DonnaRosa
Mandraik LudmilaIn our case, it is more expensive in such a package than in a tin. I follow the stocks and buy condensed milk for them.
Mandraik Ludmila
DonnaRosa, we rarely buy it, but this one from Korenovka was given to me at all. Mostly I bring myself from Belarus, my husband's mother lives in Minsk, milk is much cheaper there. My husband likes 10 ml portions of cream, but I just add drinking milk, I rarely drink sweet coffee, only if it tastes bitter, that's why we have condensed milk to-o-lgo
DonnaRosa
Mandraik LudmilaEverything is cheap for Belarusians.
Condensed milk always lives in the refrigerator, in case of fire.
I brew my coffee exclusively in cezve and strong, I add good milk 3.5% fat. I buy arabica beans in a 1kg package, at the beginning of the topic you can see the packaging, I buy this company, the French pack, but they don't write where it was grown, no matter how I looked, I didn't find it. My coffee grinder Delongy grinds finely, in-dust. The coffee is delicious. The most delicious coffee is grown in Colombia, but I have not met it here. Maybe they sell it in coffee clubs on the Internet, but it will cost like a Boeing wing.

I found 10 tips on how to make delicious coffee on the internet, I was especially interested in the 4th point, I will have to try

1. Pure water

To make delicious coffee, you need clean water.Forget the tap water right away if you want the perfect aromatic and inviting drink.

2. Take your time

If you brew coffee in a Turk (read the original recipe for coffee in a Turk), always turn on the smallest fire. I understand, of course, that I want to take the first sip as quickly as possible, but there is no need to rush. Remember - coffee takes a long time to brew.

3. Turk with a narrow neck

If you want to brew delicious coffee, use a narrow-necked turkey. Then the coffee will be more aromatic.

4. Salt!

Add salt. Yes, it’s salt. Not a spoon, of course, but literally 2-3 small crystals. It should not be felt in the taste, the trick here is that the salt in some incomprehensible way enhances the same aroma of coffee. Verified personally.

5. Ginger

Pour just a little, you will feel the difference, I assure you. Add both salt and ginger when you have not yet poured water into the coffee in the Turk.

6. Sugar

Use brown sugar, add a little to taste.

7. Grinding

Experiment with grinding. I personally like very small or, on the contrary, large. The difference in taste is noticeable.

8. Don't let the coffee boil

This is the main rule, as soon as the dense crust formed on top begins to actively rise - remove the Turk from the heat. Wait a minute, then repeat this three times. If this crust collapses, then all the aroma accumulated under it will accordingly go away and you will have to start over.

9. Coffee beans

Have you decided to brew delicious coffee? Use only high-quality coffee beans, forget about ground coffee right away.

10. Let it stand

Once the coffee is ready, you don't need to pour it into the cups right away. Let it settle for at least 30 seconds. This will give it a more uniform consistency.

Even to the whipped yolks I always add a little salt, and the taste and color are brighter.
Mandraik Ludmila
DonnaRosa, thanks, I will know and use, otherwise I only add strong alcohol to eggs 1 st.l for a couple of eggs, for better whipping, or lemon and the same little salt in the whites on the meringue. I didn't know about the yolks.

Mandraik Ludmila, thank you for the kao coffee recipe !!! Everyone was already drunk, but I just found it, and immediately did it and tried it. Well, sometimes I am lazy. And I love being lazy tasty and fast. I brew coffee in a geyser on the stove, but sometimes it's so lazy !!!!
Mandraik Ludmila
liusia, and my husband is lazy, so I make him, all the same cocoa "ennobles" the instant taste. True, I drink only custard, but I brew it in a "dropper", it contains less oils in the cup (the paper filter detains) and, accordingly, the coffee is more delicate for the stomach, there is no heartburn.
