For the third year now I have been making dried apples in my beloved Isidri! I really, really like it, I just trudge from them! It turns out not like an ordinary drying, which my grandmother dried on the roof of a barn in the sun, but a completely different taste and color! My husband doesn't like dried fruit compote, but for me it is nostalgia for childhood. When I first cooked compote from dried apples, I thought it would have a normal taste. But no, it tastes like fresh apple compote! But this is not the main thing - I just love to eat such dried apples! I dry several 5 liter cans - and this is only for my beloved. Everything is eaten during the winter.
A very simple and healthy recipe, without any sugar and other harmful additives, and the result will surpass all expectations!
We take apples, wash, cut out the middle with a special kitchen device. Better without the skin, so it turns out more tender and tasty, but you can also with them. Try to do it with or without skin and determine for yourself what is best for you. Personally, I dry without a skin, although this is probably less useful, because there are many useful substances, and they supply ballast substances for the intestines.
Then I cut into plates / slices on Berner, put them on a grid on trays in one layer, put them on medium mode overnight (10-12 hours), turn them off in the morning. The pieces must be flexible, it is important not to dry out. But also well-dried, not dried, but dried.
I leave it in the dryer for a day to remove residual moisture, while covering the hole in the lid with thick gauze. Already burned on the fact that food moths or some kind of midges are flying out of nowhere and subsequently worms start up in a jar with drying. Therefore, I do not give them a single chance to eat my apples instead of me. In the evening I come home from work, take off the dryer, put it in plastic or glass jars with a tight-fitting lid. Store at room temperature.

Last year there was no particular harvest of apples, nothing was dried. And in this, the apples have already dried twice, from 8 pallets, about 2 liters of drying are obtained. Lay out in 1 layer, dry in 8-9 hours
