Goulash as in childhood

Ingredients

Pork, beef) 0.5 kg.
bulb onions 100 g
carrot 100 g
tomato paste 1 tbsp. l.
flour 1 tbsp. l.
Bay leaf 1 PC.
peppercorns 3 pcs.
salt taste
water about 400 ml.
fat, vegetable oil 1-2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • Cut the meat into pieces (not very finely, but not coarsely), lightly fry, add finely chopped onions and grated carrots, stew everything together, not forgetting to stir, for about 10 minutes, then add about 300 ml. water (a little more or less) and simmer the meat until tender.
  • As soon as the meat is "almost ready" salt to taste, add pepper and bay leaf.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the tomato paste with flour, then add 100 ml. water, stir well again and add this mixture to the pan with meat, not forgetting to stir, so that there are no lumps, bring to a boil. Stew for 5-10 minutes after boiling and can be served with potatoes or pasta.

My son does not like gravy at all, he categorically refuses, but when I cook goulash, he eats it for three! Today we have goulash with mashed potatoes and pickled cucumbers for lunch, according to this recipe
