this is the most intriguing thing !!! Who else would explain the etymology to me ... the meaning is clear, but why is it said so?
The syrup is familiar; yes, ancient, but still good and very tasty !! Sometimes it goes better than honey. Because it smells like lemon. Well done, Trinitronthat posted.

Vladimir, thanks for the recipe for the "golden" syrup, I've never cooked it before. Here is a recipe with a beard for someone, but for someone news.

It is necessary to do this ...

Interesting! As the honey ends. It remained there on the walls of the jar, just to make a honey cake.
Will this syrup go into a honey cake instead of honey?

Of course it will .. In general, it is a kind of substitute for honey in baked goods.
It is the Americans who have it "gold" .. And we have it invert since the times of the USSR ..
Found here, by the way, why the hell is this syrup needed ..

"Invert syrup serves as an anti-crystallizer and moisture-binding agent. Thanks to it, baked goods do not stale for a long time, the dough is plastic and has a golden color. If you notice, very similar properties to honey, only without allergens. Creams, fondants and other confectionery fillings that have in their composition large amount of sugar, when adding invert syrup is not sugar-coated. "
