Note

* Buttermilk: In our understanding, buttermilk is, of course, non-fat cream. This is what remains after whipping the butter. In the case of buttermilk, this is a broader term, meaning both buttermilk and regular milk curdled by acid. So don't run around the shops headlong looking for buttermilk. It is for sale, but sometimes it is not so easy to find it.
Making buttermilk is very simple. 200-300 ml. heat milk to 40 degrees, pour a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar into it, mix and leave for 10 minutes. The milk is slightly curdled and the buttermilk is ready.

To bookmarks. You should still try to bake bread without kneading at least once. Moreover, the recipe is interesting.

You will not regret. One thing but .. it is desirable that the bread has cooled completely .. From the warm slightly hops pulls))))

Elena, you think correctly .. I had experience in St. Petersburg Guinness, this swill is called Original and in Athanasia and even in the Baltic Sea porter .. And they were all very edible .. But I'll tell you what happens in normal Guinness more magnificent and with such a piquant bitterness))) .. And this bread in Guinness is ideal for sandwiches with salted fish or cheese, just magical .. Not for sweets, of course ..
In general, of course, choose a beer to your taste, but this is exactly the Irish recipe ...

To your health! Regarding the cast iron .. I also took what came to hand .. I also do not have a normal small pan for the oven .. Ideally it should be something like this ... with a diameter of 26-28 centimeters Irish bread in Guinness and buttermilk without kneading

This is yes. I want to take a draft in the pub ... but I wonder what happens.
I'll put a double portion at once, otherwise they are already eating it up.
