Millet porridge stewed in a pot

Ingredients

Based on a 200 ml pot.
Millet washed 50 gr.
Baked milk 70 gr.
Butter 2-3 gr.
Salt and sugar to taste

Cooking method

  • Millet porridge stewed in a potSort the millet, rinse well under running water and put in a pot. Although I have it unglazed, I don’t bother with soaking.
  • Millet porridge stewed in a potSprinkle with sugar to taste and add a pinch of salt.
  • Millet porridge stewed in a potFill with baked milk, mix, add butter.
  • Millet porridge stewed in a potPut a silicone mat in the bowl of the multicooker (pressure cooker). We put the pots in a bowl, cover with lids. Fill with water to the waist. Mode "Simmer" or Multipovar pressure 3 temperature 97 degrees per hour. I think it is better to put in a slow cooker for 1.5 hours. And then until it cools completely. The porridge will not boil over. On the contrary, it will become stewed and fragrant.
  • The porridge is crumbly. If you want viscous, then increase the amount of milk a little) Despite the seemingly small portion, it is very satisfying even for an adult)
  • Millet porridge stewed in a pot

Note

A pottery-pot epidemic struck me))) This serious illness took possession of me entirely.
I propose to cook delicious porridge in small pots. And for the convenience of cooking, we will not cook in the oven, but in a multicooker or pressure cooker. It is very convenient to do this not only during the day, but especially from evening to morning. Fast, convenient, easy and tasty. And most importantly, it's useful!
With love, Your Tumanchik

I was the first to go to gruel, Irishik came out with a plague gruel!

Irish, and if you make it thinner, then what is the ratio of cereal: water?
I caught more or less with rice, but with millet ...
gawala
We need to buy millet. I haven't made millet porridge in a pot for a long time. I love her very much .. And even more so in a pot ..
Tusya Tasya
No, well, this is what kind of talent one must have in order to create such a masterpiece from millet and milk! Irishkin, brilliant presentation of the recipe! I’ll go and see if the milk is not sour, then I’ll put it on to cook, although not ghee. Wow, temptress!
P.S. But I don’t like milk porridge

Ksyushik thank you, catch
Well, so that it is completely liquid, then part of the millet and three parts of the liquid.
I don’t know about you, but it’s very difficult to buy good millet from us. I crawl on the shelves and choose very carefully.
by the way, millet very quickly becomes infected with moths, as it is sold out slowly. therefore always look carefully.
Galinathank you for your attention
Tusya Tasya-Natashik, I will be glad if you like it)))

Irishka, thanks for the delicious gut recipe! Neither does it work out for me a crumbly millet porridge or liquid or straight twisted. I'll try according to your recipe.

Tumanchik, Ira, how I love such a porridge!
Loose! Yes with butter!
I did not try to cook in a pot
Tumanchik
Irina, Antonina, girls are not at all. Porridge is great !!! And in the pot it is also beautiful)))
Uliana
Tumanchik, Irina! And if you cook oatmeal (viscous, from oatmeal), what are the proportions of cereal-milk? Tell me please!
gawala

oatmeal
I always make myself oatmeal in a pot and oven.
2 tbsp. spoons of cereal and somewhere a glass of milk, maybe a little more ... I grease sl. the rim of the pot with butter, so that the milk does not run away, the milk is cold, I do not close the lid, 35 minutes in the oven with 175 degrees blowing and 30-40 minutes in the oven off. for a long time, but it turns out an extraordinary porridge, so languidly tired .. on top of a brown milky crust .. Nothing runs away, the main thing is to turn it off on time. time has already been worked out ..

Irish, and if in the usual way, that is, just in a multicooker, I cook in a ratio of 1: 5, then keep this proportion in a pot too? As far as I understand, while it will stand to cool in mv, it will still thicken. So you have to put in more milk?

And then you warm it up in the same water?

I make this porridge in the oven in a saucepan. I agree that it will be tastier in a pot. It remains to buy a pot ...
A long time ago, when the trees were large .... grandmother tormented millet in the oven, on water and without salt, only fed the hatched chickens. Kaaak, I adored such porridge! I often asked her to cook chicken porridge ...
So stewed in a pot and a slow cooker .... yummy!
Tumanchik
Hope, are you still without pots ?! get better urgently!

Irishkina, This is delicious! And convenient! And satisfying! And finally!))) I really liked this method of cooking porridge. I take it to my favorite recipes. Thank you!!!

Zhenya is always welcome! I also like the convenience of cooking the most. Try to cook other porridge as well. Buckwheat is excellent and oatmeal from whole grains. I think !!!
Rick
Irishkina, of course, I plan to cook all the porridge like that.
I forgot to write about the proportions. As I said, usually in a multicooker I cook in the proportion of cereals: milk = 1: 5 (millet, rice, buckwheat separately or rice: millet: corn grits = 1: 1: 1). Now I made millet: milk = 1: 6. I put it at 10 o'clock in the evening at 95 grams. for 1.5 hours. Opened at 10 am. It turned out what we need. Well, a little thinner could be. The consistency looks thick, but the spoon is not worth it.

fine. and today I put the oatmeal. but she was in a hurry and poured it by eye. therefore I will not say the proportions. delicious. as languid as nutty)))

Irishkina, accidentally saw this recipe, and sunk into the photo)
The fact is that as a child I had a chance to eat millet porridge from a Russian stove. And I remember that it was not liquid in the pot, it was hard to get out of there with a spoon, but in the plate, when pressed, it crumbled into a grain.
In a slow cooker, I cannot achieve such an effect (maybe someone knows how). If there is little liquid, it is a lump. And if there is a lot, it is liquid.
But in a pot !!!
Millet porridge stewed in a pot
Tumanchik, thank you !!!
I haven't used pots for a long time, they stood idle. And then mmmm ...
I cooked on a multi-cook at 95 degrees for 2 hours. I put it in the night, until the morning on the heating.
Irochka, and how such an effect is achieved? There is not enough liquid ... But it really crumbles

And how to choose it correctly?
Tumanchik
Dasha, how great it is that you cooked it! Well, straight porridge one to one! Grain to grain!
you are smart! thank you so much!
Quote: M @ rtochka
Ira, how is this effect achieved? There is not enough liquid ... But it really crumbles
I have no idea. apparently this temperature turns out magic!

Quote: M @ rtochka
And how to choose it correctly?

in general, the principle is like rice. the grains should be as whole as possible. yellow color. dark blotches are minimal. a white starchy coating on the fractures means the grain is dry and will require more liquid.

I got there with gratitude. Irishkin, this is so delicious! True, there was no baked milk - I made it fresh. Two hours on Stew in a slow cooker. The only thing - a little liquid was not enough, the millet crunched inside. Did a double portion, just had dinner with my husband.

Tumanchik, Irish, what is your cartoon in the photo? What is the diameter of her bowl. I choose pots for Shteba, measure, measure, but ... will three be there? The diameter of my bowl is 22 or a little less, and the pots are about 10 cm at the top, and everyone's sides are still sticking out. Three in Shtebu will not rise, it seems ...
Shcha looked ~ your flat, without convex barrels. We should look for such! All. Let's go.
M @ rtochka
Yesterday in Attack I was holding pots without lids, without handles, diameter 6-7 cm. Beautiful! Borisov ceramics. But all with chips ... She did not take it.
But they would be just, probably, 2 pieces and would fit into the MV.
mamusi
Daria, I am examining Borisov ceramics at Ozone. I will look ...
And I need three to join the Headquarters, otherwise the meaning is lost (well, for me)
I will not use the oven for night porridge.
For another ~ yes. But I'll also take more pots. You can put it in the oven. And here, Irina has tiny ...
Tumanchik
Ilmirushka, oh I will definitely bring

these pots are my dream. found it by force. fit for everything and are included everywhere.
I advise you to find such! buzz - also with a lid.
and please believe me: a single serving for an adult, despite the seemingly small size. it is necessary to try a lot of the cartoon, and if you eat at once and the effect of the oven, then such a pot is a godsend!
girls, if you are especially interested, I can help you find them and find a way to deliver them to you in Moscow. and then yourself

net width 7.5 cm in diameter excluding walls. they are even from the bottom to the very top.

Irishik, oh, what tiny ones, but they stand up close?
If I have 9, 7 cm, they won't stand up, right?

Well, two, then I think they will get up ... And three?
I'm dumb ...
Tumanchik
in diameter, taking into account the walls, 8.6-8.8 cm.
all three get up free and there is a place. the diameter of the bowl I indicated

Tumanchik, Irish, I don't understand with Heating until the morning. At my Shteba and at Phillips, after the program, the Heating will turn on itself and will keep it until morning. And you don't have Warming up in this recipe after the languor?
The cartoon is different. So I think. I want my son to get up in the morning, and the porridge is hot. This is usually the case for me. Hercules is waiting hot. So ~ what more liquid to take then?
Write how you are with or without Warming up after languishing.

pot 200 ml. height without lid 5 cm. with lid 3 cm higher.
I have been looking for such for a long time. I bought them at the exhibition from my uncle, who makes them himself.

But is it not crumbly anymore?

I saw the photo above
Trishka
M @ rtochka, Dasha, no, she is viscous, I am crumbly and did not want to.
garvich
Tumanchik, for a long time I ate such a crumbly millet porridge at my husband's grandmother. She cooked it in a pot in a Russian village stove. I will remember this mess all my life. I will make an attempt to cook porridge in a pot in the Oursson-5005 pressure cooker on Slowing. I also have small pots and one big one in it I sometimes make roasts in the oven. The little ones are small, and hardly even two will fit there. I will cook in large, take a double or triple serving. Thanks for the crumbly porridge recipe!
