Inspired Feat Marina (Mar_k) From Europe to Asia (rally with a multicooker Redmond MRC-01) and puzzled by the correct feeding of two champions (10 and 12 years old) on the road, he found a magic pot for a car on the website "named after quick Ali".

Here's a funny little green one:

In order not to fence in a "garden with an inverter" and laying 220v wires in the car, I chose the 12 volt version. (There is also in nature: at 220v - for domestic egoists from Eurasia, at 110v - for home-based recluses from North America, at 24v - for global truckers.)

Recently I tested it on the farthest trip with us: from the town of "Bear Ugle" to the village of "Stream by the Deer Path" (literal translations from Nenets).

Bookmark:
0.5 cups (not multicooker, but real, male) washed buckwheat,
1 glass of water
salt + oil = to taste.

I started the engine (the power consumption of the device is up to 100 watts, comparable to the headlights, but it is better not to test the patience of the battery).
I plugged the device into an outlet in the trunk (keeping the cartoon on my knees and driving is too high aerobatics for me), secured it from coups.
Pressed one of the two buttons (the second switches to heating).
Let's hit the road!

In less than 30 minutes. An unobtrusive smell of regular porridge appeared in the cabin.
Loose, fragrant. Not burnt. No excess water.
The result is 5 points.

1/2 cup of cereal was enough to satisfyingly feed two healthy men. If you want, you can double the bookmark. If you remove the steamer tray, it will fit exactly.

Minuses:
Pure China (instructions in English only on request, no Russian at all),
funny look (girls from my childhood had more doll pots),
small, a little more (pits + soup = ...),
for cooking from 220v (in the parking lot), you need to carry either a second cartoon, or a charger (from 220 to 12),
non-removable bowl.

Pros:
Ridiculous price (and the most multi, and there are no additional costs for an inverter "from 12 to 220"),
simple design (2 buttons, 2 lights, wire),
rich equipment (don't laugh! we even put a spare valve),
minimum electricity consumption (a normal multicooker eats 500-800 watts, plus losses in the inverter, not every car can withstand),
turned on and forgot,
maaaalenkaya (does not fit into the glovebox a little).

I am delighted !

Vesta, so, now, please, take a test drive, please, I have it in my basket for a month. Just the husband is in doubt all, like "and what can she do besides rice ???"
Vesta
Alla, until I promise, it seems like we're not going anywhere, and without a car you won't test it, Uncle Sam may have cooked something else.

but you can't test without a car,

And why? The title says that at home in email. networks can be turned on.
Vesta
sleepyhead, Svetlana, there the option is chosen either-or, we have chosen for the car.
Ilmirushka
Svetlana, but a set of two cords cannot be ordered at once? So it would be convenient to use it at home when you need it, and, of course, take it with you on the road.
Vesta
Ilmira, I did not go into details, there is enough equipment at home, the goal was to order for a car.
Ilmirushka
Svetlana, I have already looked through the offers, there either-or, but it's a pity. And then the choice is only from China, from Russia only 220.

Ordered for home. I think it will come in handy in the morning for cereals, and it is convenient to take it on vacation due to its low weight. I'll get it, I'll try what this crumb can, accomplish my goal.
Larssevsk
And I ordered this on Ali, I did not come

Svetlana, waiting for your feedback. Maybe I'll try number 2
eta-007
Larssevsk, Laris, I ordered with delivery from Russia (at the Mall), though there is only white. Multi-colored, of course more fun, but from Moscow for 30 rubles. cheaper. Savings, however
eta-007
The device came. Delivery by courier, free. It took 4 days to get from the mall. A funny toy. I haven't tested it today, tomorrow morning I'll cook oatmeal from Nordic flakes using a mixture of milk and water. Very neatly made, no smell. Both the cartoon itself and the box are packed in large-bubble cellophane.

Photo of the kit. And the crumb itself compared to a liter can.

Sorry, I can't turn a photo from a tablet.

Yes, and extra silicone valves and plastic lid latches. There is a silicone nozzle on the cord, on the plug itself (I really don't know why). Since the bowl cannot be removed, there is a silicone plug at the back, where the cord is inserted, probably so that the water does not flow during washing.
Ilmirushka
Svetlanawhat a little girl she is !!! Write tomorrow, how long will the porridge cook? I have a small REDBER pressure cooker for 2 liters, milk rice porridge in it is ready in 12 minutes, curiosity gnaws, but in this one?
eta-007
Ilmir, I'll try tomorrow, but the oatmeal cooks quickly. I'll try the rice tomorrow night. Actually it was bought for travel. 750 gr with a cord is not heavy, and on trips without leaving the room, porridge or soup. Maybe this "scoop" is playing, but sometimes you don't want to go anywhere for breakfast ...

In the morning. I cooked 1 portion of porridge. Nordic oat flakes (1 cup or 5 tablespoons) 1 cup of water, 1 cup of it. milk + sugar, salt, butter. Turned off after 7 minutes. The husband ate somewhere in 30 minutes. before that it was closed. It is no different from micra, but something we (in the face of my husband) recently, under the influence of aggressive TV, believe that microwaves in a freshly prepared product are harmful, because after cooking, you need to withstand time, and the porridge needs to be eaten hot ... . etc.

Maybe someone has instructions for this miracle. Of course, it is difficult to get confused in 2 buttons (probably 1 to cook, and the second is heated, as in lunch boxes), but I would like to get acquainted, what if they write something new?
eta-007
Albina,

At the same time I report on today's rice milk porridge. Her 2 cups of washed round grain rice, 1 tbsp. cream (the house suddenly ran out of milk, otherwise it would make milk-water 1: 1), 3 tbsp. water, a pinch of salt, sugar, butter. I put a plate from this device on top for the experiment and broke an egg there, salted it. Turn on the top button - the red light comes on. While I was getting ready (about 20 minutes), the red light turned off, the green light turned on (heating). The porridge is boiled, the egg is boiled too. Delicious. True, my jamb did not grease the egg cup with oil and it boiled, but it was torn off with a spoon easily and did not damage the cup.
Summary: the device is decent, the price is somewhat overpriced, but if you need it, you can take it.

P.S. Yes, more! there was a lot of porridge. The husband mastered only half. Two of you can definitely feed this portion. The liquid did not reach the top (the bottom of the covering plate with the egg fogged up, but did not get dirty), from which we can conclude that it is possible to cook a large portion.
Olga VB
Brothers, who thinks about such a thing?

She has a slightly larger volume, specific latches for the lid. But whether the bowl is being removed, I still did not understand.
In one picture, it is separately, but it seems that this is only for the characteristics of it shown, and not because it is removable.
Well, the price is really higher.

Another 2-storey pribluda, also for a car, and also more expensive. But definitely with removable bowls.

Caprice
eta-007, thanks for letting you know that the bowl cannot be removed. Until now, I was thinking whether to buy or not. In our "immense" country, the "journey" from north to south does not take more than 6-8 hours one way. Therefore, I was not sure of the need for this device for our family. Now I know that I don’t need to buy it. I will have more trouble with cooking and washing.

Interested. But, as I understand it, it is small and purely for warming up.

it is small and clean to warm up.
They write, as in other mini-cookers, "rice cooker", i.e. not for heating, but for cooking
On the other hand, I, too, have not yet decided what would be more practical for me in the car - cooking or just heating.
Omka
Olga VB,
And don't you consider a tandem a small full-fledged cartoon plus a set of thermoboxes? I bought a 4-storey structure for traveling to Ali, we are very satisfied
In the background is visible MV Philips and the actual lunchboxes - 4 x 700 ml

Albina
Olga, and the link is possible?
Omka
Albina,
Link thrown in a personal
Of the minuses, only the upper section is hermetically sealed.
But macaroons, potatoes with meat or porridge are easy. I bought with a thermo bag, they keep heat for 4 hours generally well, if 6 hours - to room temperature, there is normal, but not hotter, of course
Albina
Olga, I have seen. I threw it into my basket (though I already had such containers in my basket)
We took the little one on vacation to Redmond too. But it didn't come in handy. But I was not carrying it in my hands. I put it in her own box and took it with her.
Omka
Albina,
Well, it all depends on the genre in which the trip is planned)))
Olga VB
Quote: Omka

Olga, I consider everything that works from 12V and with the corresponding plug in the cigarette lighter
Can you link to your tandem? Let's get into the topic right here, suddenly someone else will be interested.
Omka
Olga,
I ordered here, the bowl from the multi is next to it to understand the volumes

It seems that Redmont has (or had) a toon complete with an inverter, maybe then?
Olga VB
Omka, Thank you, looked.
This is a lunch box, that is, not for cooking, but for warming up. And there is nowhere a hint that it can be used in a car (12V). So that doesn't suit me.
But perhaps someone will be interested
Omka
Olga,
This is essentially a thermos, not even for warming up, but for maintaining the temperature. It just seemed like it was written about moving no more than 6-8 hours, so the idea arose - we drive this way - I cooked it, put the hot stuff in portions, then somewhere outside the house I shook it
eta-007
Caprice, Irene, I still use it for a month, about the bowl: the coating is so silky that washing is loudly said. On the road, it completely manages with a napkin (2 pcs. Since it is a mass one) and everything is clean, on arrival, of course it is washed, but I did not take it for a car. I cooked oatmeal even on the train, there is a normal socket in the compartment. And reheating their ever-cold chicken with rice is a sweet thing. For me, so the thing is necessary. And in the car .... I had an unopened super coffee maker in my car for two years (a gift). I never had a desire to make coffee on the go. I think that I will not be going to cook porridge either. I'd better stop and eat.

So I'm talking about the same thing. I didn’t tell my husband that I would cook something on the go. She said about "warm up". He looked at me like I was an idiot, like, why bother when you can always have a bite to eat at any restaurant along the way. I, of course, sang a song about "home tested, natural and without any nonsense", and I myself thought that the ride is, in total, a maximum of 6 hours one way. It is quite possible to get by with sandwiches, salads and a thermos with coffee.
Mirabel
Svetlana, so you tried to cook milk rice porridge?
I found a rice cooker with us for about 25 years. 3 why I need it, I haven’t come up with it yet
I have a very solid rice cooker, so I saw a beautiful little girl and I need to find motivation to buy.
ohhh pardon the porridge has already been cooked ... so in my rice cooker the milk will run away if I cook it on the cooking mode ... but here everything was .. it looks like ok ..
but in fact, how much water does it contain? 1l?
Caprice
By the way, girls! We are here in the topic discussing small car rice cookers. But I still didn’t understand: it was in the car, on the road that someone tried to use them? Does the car get dirty? And, to be honest, I can't even imagine how to prepare it during the trip.
Vesta
Irene, on the forum we have experience of using a conventional multicooker on the road
From Europe to Asia (rally with a multicooker Redmond MRC -01)
Caprice
Vesta, thanks, Sveta. But there is about the usual cartoon. And I asked about this little Chinese car. How she behaves on the road.
Vesta
Irene, the car has very good latches on the lid, I think that something should not get dirty there, I just poured water, flung it around, put it on its side, nothing spills out, provided that it is on its side and the valve is at the top, because otherwise through it will pour out.
Caprice
Thank you, Svetochka. I am here just like that and that way I am considering the need to purchase for a trip to the other end of our "immense" country. And the husband says not to bother with nonsense. 6 hours of travel - it is quite possible to get by with sandwiches and salads. Moreover, on the way there are a lot of stops at different points, where you can always buy something edible, if it is not enough. We are not going to the taiga and not to the tundra, but only through two deserts: the Negev and the Arava
Vesta
We haven’t traveled further than 1200 km so far, so we either got along from home or stopped on the highway in cafes. But my husband has a dream-trip to Baikal, maybe then it will come in handy
Caprice
Well, you have different spaces and different distances there. We can drive the whole country from the extreme north to the extreme south for 8 hours by car.
And there are a lot of gourmet establishments along the way
Albina
This year we went to Gorny Altai to Lake Teletskoye. The one way trip took 3 days. And when we were driving home, my husband did not want to stay at the hotel for the second night and we arrived home at 5 am. There are many cafes along the highway
Quote: Vesta
But my husband has a dream-trip to Baikal,
When they drove the car from Vladivostok, they drove through Lake Baikal (it also took about 5 days to get there). We did not experience any problems with food: we went into cafes. But there (if I am not mistaken) there is some section of the road, where the distance from the last cafe to the next is decent. In such a case, it is good to keep something for a snack. For example nuts, seeds

And if you use an adapter, will the little rice cooker work at home?

Just wondering if it is possible to expand the functionality of this tiny rice cooker in a similar way, so that both at home and on the road?
Vesta
Irene, there in the reviews it is written that it seems that car gadgets work at home.

I understand that there, just, you have to choose when ordering, either for a house, or for a car, or for a truck. The link to the adapter that I gave above is from a plug-in for a passenger car (12v) to an external power grid (220v).

Quote: Vesta

Something like that.
Vesta
Irene, I wrote about reviews for the adapter
Hello everyone. The adapter came and pretty quickly (23 days). It immediately turned out to be checked on the DVR, it works from 220 V only in this way. A very convenient and necessary thing if someone needs to look at their automotive equipment at home.

The idea is correct!
Only a specific adapter will not withstand a multicooker. If his abilities are still enough to feed the DVR, then the "500 MA" declared by the manufacturer for cooking is not enough.

On the manufacturer's website, the minimum about power consumption is written vaguely: "less than 600 watts". In the passport of my "magic pot" I found another figure - 100 volts (it looks like the truth).
While the electricians from our site are preparing to correct me, I give the following calculations: 100 watts (power consumption) / 12 volts (in the auto network) = 8 amperes (the required output current of the home adapter is 220/12).
Something like this.

I myself plan to power the multicooker at home from a charger for car batteries.
My only test of the auto-multi showed its complete tightness (the clips on the lid, however).
Although the roads in Vorkuta are like in all of Russia ...
Caprice
Then I wonder what will "cover" first: a rice cooker or an adapter,
eta-007
Mirabel, Vika, sorry, I haven’t come into this topic for a long time. I did not try to pour water to full. I cooked the porridge as much as possible from 2 of her glasses of rice, 2 of her glasses of milk and 2 of her glasses of water, but it was her fault that she did not mix it up and did not put her plate on top and she began to spit a little, but I stopped spitting at an early stage (mixed and put her plate on top which is great for spraying through the valve). Well, a lot of porridge turns out to be impossible to master alone, now I take less proportion for one person

Hmm ... I think I have such a booster at home. The son bought for old cars. Our old cars were changed to Toyota, the booster remained "out of work".
Uncle Sam, thanks for the thought, now I will think it over.
Please write how the tests went
