Minestrone in a mother's way (children's version)

Category: First meal
Kitchen: italian
Mom's minestrone (children's version)

Ingredients

Potatoes 2 small tubers
Carrot 1 medium root vegetable
Zucchini 1 young or 15 cm piece
Young cabbage 3 leaves without a rigid vein
Bulb 1 medium
A tomato 1 medium
Garlic 1 clove
Minced meat for children 200-300 gr
Green beans Handful
Spaghetti 15 pcs.
Vegetable oil or ghee
Parsley Several twigs

Cooking method

  • 1. We put on the fire a saucepan of 2.5 liters with 1/2 water, during cooking we adjust the amount of water.
  • 2. Cooking ingredients + spaghetti and frozen minced meat, photo below.
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • 2. We cut vegetables in a way that suits your baby for feeding.
  • I have potatoes - in small cubes, onions, tomato (peel off) - in small cubes, cabbage is chopped into narrow strips and cut across into pieces, and carrots and zucchini - on a coarse grater, garlic and herbs - very finely by any means.
  • Or shred everything on a mixer on a shredder with medium holes.
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • 3. I throw potatoes, cabbage, zucchini and a small bay leaf into boiling water. Yes, zucchini with skin, because we have it from the garden. Yes, so early I throw such a delicate product, because it is here (as elsewhere with me) for density and fiber.
  • 4. "Frying" *.
  • In a frying pan in vegetable oil or butter, I heat ghee (ghee) for a minute. high heat carrots and onions. Since vitamin A from carrots is absorbed only together with the fatty component. I am waiting for the oil to begin to take away the color of the carrots and the smell of onions. It cannot be called roasting! Only warming up. The onion becomes slightly transparent, loses its acrid smell, gives a delicious aroma to the oil.
  • 5. I add tomato, garlic, some greens, add a little heat, let it stew.
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • 6. I add the frozen piece of minced meat to the "frying".
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • 7. I turn it over in a minute and scrape off the finished minced meat, knead it thoroughly with a spatula and mix it with vegetables. I turn it over and scrape the minced meat a few more times until the minced meat is all gone. I do this so that the minced meat breaks up into pieces as small as possible.

In a blender-soupovar, you get not such variegated pieces - more average and homogeneous, and vegetables will also fall under the knife if there is no internal filter. And at this stage I transfer the child to food in normal pieces + accustom him to meat. Another point is that our dad will not eat "mash" from the blender, and since I cook for everyone at once, we have to look for a compromise.

  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • 8. Minced meat with vegetables is ready, it is very fragrant, juicy and beautiful, vegetables are all ready. Add the contents of the pan to the pan and simmer over medium heat.
  • 9. Add a handful of green beans, broken into small pieces of spaghetti (you can take whole grains, buckwheat, Jerusalem artichoke, etc., whatever you can for the baby) and cook until the spaghetti is done.
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • If the baby is just getting used to eating in pieces, you can safely mash the thick soup with a fork before feeding - it turns out not homogenously, but not in pieces, in a porridge in which various components are visible.
  • Mom's minestrone (children's version)
  • It is clear that the recipe is not a dogma, but only a collection of ideas. Change it at your discretion, capabilities, mood!
  • Delicious and healthy soup for the whole family is ready! Health to you and your children.
  • P. S. Beans in the main photo just for beauty,

because grandmother confused the seeds and instead of milk beans for cooking and frying with spatulas, she planted the beans on "beans", that is, with a hard parchment layer, and then handed them over to us under the guise of the first.

  • P. C.2 Soup in this form is perfect for older people who have dental problems.

The dish is designed for

About 2-2.5 L

Time for preparing:

Approximately 20-60 minutesdepending on gadgets, excluding minced meat preparation

Note

1. * - in the text, item 4.

2. ** - Children's "fluffy" mince.

I prepare it in advance and ice it in portions of 250-300 gr.
Ingredients: rabbit / turkey / elk / salmon meat 500 gr, zucchini 200 gr, onion 50 gr, your own white bread 100 gr + 50 gr milk. Finely grind everything in a blender. I get almost to an airy state. This is what the son eats. Other meat - in no form, just try small pieces. If your baby is not allowed wheat or milk, make a minimal experimental knead of minced meat with corn / rice or other hypoallergenic porridge and the mixture that you give your child

A little dedication.
I dedicate to mothers.

Not super mummies-veroch-from-instagram or other inhabitants of the planets "I know the best of all", etc. To such superwomen I have nothing to say or advise, me and my recipes are too simple and unpretentious.

Just ordinary mummies. If you are tired of the eternal abstruse treatises about children's food and the benefits / harms / environmental friendliness / biological / super-practicality and others like them, if you are just tired of thinking about how to feed your baby or baby or toddlers, look at me for a light, maybe it will come in handy my ideas and it will somehow facilitate your daily household kitchen work.

At the request of the old-fashioned housewives, I reproduced the recipe using a saucepan, a frying pan, an ordinary grater, a cutting board, and a knife. I usually use a different shredder and slow cooker for the respective steps.

How did we come to this soup?
Our child is a victim of pedagogical feeding. At 1.5 years old, having once tasted the adult soup from my plate (it turned out spontaneously, since we almost always eat healthy food, I give to try everything that I ask, except for alcohol), I refused to eat my salt-free / non-steamed / diet soups. Since then, I have been making soups that would be tasty for everyone: for mom, dad, and son, because he still asks for my soup until hysterical. It was impossible to deceive - the smell understood that "the wrong coat".
I put salt to a minimum (my husband makes himself a little more salty, and sometimes not - she almost weaned him from eating too much salt), but since we are preparing the child for kindergarten, I consider salt in products a normal phenomenon of adaptation to the outside world.

Anastasia, thanks for the recipe. We will start the first feeding in a month. Let's take note of your recipe.
Tricia
Gulnara, thanks for stopping by!
For the first feeding, this soup is too fragrant, as for me. But if you remove the zucchini without the skin, cabbage, garlic and parsley, 2 times less onion and a tomato with care, then you can try.
I have more recipes that can be used for the first feeding. If I have time to do it, I will expose them too! :-)

Thank you.
In Temko I have already brought it to the first page.
We are waiting for more!

I love vegetable soups especially lately, I think the soup will be fine without meat. The recipe is super! I was puzzled with small pedagogical complementary foods. Well, I have neither the time nor the desire to cook different food for everyone, I cook simple and healthy food for everyone to the maximum! Households do not mind))
Tricia
Margarita, Thank you! Hope the recipe comes in handy.

Venera007, Tatyana, Thank you!
If you don’t need to feed the small ones, you can do it without meat!

Here! And I am of the same opinion that there is nothing to spoil with personal pickles from early childhood: everyone eats common healthy and tasty food. If there is no special. honey. indications, then the first, second, dessert, compote - general and so norms.
Venera007
Tricia, yeah, and the whole family is without eggs and tomatoes, since the small one is allergic to them. I'm waiting for when we outgrow :)

+1
Except grandfather
He ... not everything will eat baby. But soup and porridge YES!
Venera007
mamusi, soup and porridge are already good! I can give fried potatoes, but more often baked, and pilaf, though without spices. I didn't turn my food into mashed potatoes, from 6 months I immediately began to eat in pieces))) now at 11 months old cucumbers and apples are easy to eat :)
Nastya, sorry for the offtopic :)

Our grandfather will love this idea. In a hurry to feed the "hungry" grandson directly
(for reference: the child is quite plump, albeit on GV)))

and pilaf, though without spices.
Mine at 2 years old pounds with my father's plates and pilaf with spices, and kulesh, and wheat porridge p-la couscous with shrimps and chicken! If only the plate was parent. If the rice hadn't strengthened so much, I would have fed it with turkey pilaf almost every day!
By the way, I have a great recipe for pilaf couscous with vegetables and chicken. How to shoot the process, lay it out! Sonulya eats "salty" porridge for both cheeks, but does not favor sweet ones.

yeah, and the whole family is without eggs
By the way, they can be replaced with white flax flour :-)

And in pizza, where usually tomato. sauce goes, make white sauce: marin. onions in salt and sugar, dry. garlic, weighed sour cream, parsley. Blender everything - and on the pizza with the filling - mind eat, how delicious! And I give the small one a slice of such pizza: he won't eat it, it'll bite so tasty
Venera007
Tricia, I know about a flaxseed egg, but I stopped laying eggs in cutlets for a long time, meat without eggs work well, pancakes are obtained without them, I don't have enough omelet, but this is temporary. I make pilaf with bulgur, porridge on my water, it so happened that we do not like today's milk. And we don't eat sweets either. But salt is always in the diet.

It would be great! My oldest is 13 years old. In the past, complementary foods were started at 3-4 months old with fruit juice and puree. Then vegetables and cereals. My homemade did not eat. More and more banks. And very pleasant. Fruit has become eaten only for the last two years. Before that, only apples and bananas. Only potatoes are vegetables. Pasta, eggs and sausages. No pepper. No zucchini. No cottage cheese. No kefir. She refused. On the fish scandal. But with puberty, I began to eat almost everything. Therefore, I want to cook the youngest myself. Good from the garden a lot of their own.

Well from the garden a lot of everything.
Gulnara, then you can now freeze your sliced tomatoes without skin, grated zucchini, grated carrots, beans, peas, and other vegetables for soups. Freezing just saves me in winter, when zucchini - 200 rubles. per kg, and tomatoes and other vegetables - plastic. I even ice my cucumbers! I cook such a pseudo-pickle for small ones in winter - mmmm, yummy))).

Yes, it is now advised not to rush with complementary foods, so that the necessary enzymes can form in the child's intestines. I made sure myself that it is better not to rush. I started feeding at 6 months. with sour milk - she made bifivit herself. I don't understand why many of them give fruits and vegetables, for my taste it would be more interesting for the child to be fermented milk complementary foods, as it happened with us, and I'm so glad))). How tasty and sweet this bifivit is! Lovely! Sonulya ate it sooooo good. She still respects sour milk. I believe that it is thanks to the delicious first feeding that the child now does not refuse milk and sour milk.I rejected sweet puree right away! Stunned, I was just crying. Ate canned and my broccoli puree mixed with bifivit. She did not drive horses, did not insist on anything.
Then we had enough of meat ... Only now, at least as soon as he begins to eat it in soups. To try - sweeps everything that is not nailed: if daddy gags, then the small one can shoot chips, heat. put potatoes in your mouth, a piece of meat, pizza, muffins, chocolate, cucumbers, carrots, apples, figs, parsley ... and away we go. But as soon as two or three hours pass (when everything should already be digested) and get closer to dinner, that's all - he doesn't want anything but soup and broth))))) I'm all in me, why is it now))))

As I understand it, pediatricians have this approach, to start complementary foods with "tasteless" vegetables and cereals. And then they used to start with "sweet" fruits and juice, and then the children could refuse vegetables and meat.

I start cooking ...
