Kitfort KT-715. Drip coffee maker

The Kitfort KT-715 drip coffee maker prepares aromatic coffee and is controlled by just one button.

In a drip coffee maker, water is brought to a temperature of 85-95 ° C, after which it slowly flows into the filter with ground coffee. After passing through it, she falls into the coffee pot. At the end of preparation, the coffee maker switches to warming mode. The heated platform on which the coffee pot with the finished coffee is placed will be hot for 40 minutes, then the coffee machine will turn off.

The coffee maker is equipped with an anti-drip system - a shutter that stops coffee delivery when the coffee pot is taken out of the coffee maker. You can pour coffee into a cup without waiting for preparation to finish.

The 1.25 L tank allows you to brew 10 cups of coffee in one go. The body of the coffee pot is transparent, so you can always see how much coffee is left.

The coffee maker is designed for making coffee at home or in the office.

Preparation for work and use

Flush the coffee maker before using it for the first time. Fill the tank with water up to a level of 10 cups and carry out a full coffee brewing cycle without adding a coffee brew to the filter. After finishing preparation, drain the hot water from the pot. The coffee maker is now ready for use.

Making coffee

1. Open the top lid and fill the reservoir with water without exceeding the maximum level of 10 cups on the graduated scale. The amount of water must match the amount of ground coffee. Do not fill the reservoir above the opening in the back of the reservoir, otherwise water will spill out. If the tank is overfilled, the pot can also overflow during further brewing.
2. Place the funnel in the holder with the funnel handle fitting into the recess in the body.
3. Place the filter in the funnel. The ridge on the funnel should line up with the cutout on the filter.
4. Put ground coffee in the filter, commensurate with the amount of water poured into the tank and the required strength of the drink. Typically, one scoop of coffee is required per cup (100 ml) of beverage. Close the cover.
Attention! Do not add too much coffee, otherwise the water will not seep through the coffee and overflow over the edge of the funnel during preparation. To prepare a full pot of coffee, we recommend adding the infusions no more than half the height of the filter.
5. Place the coffee pot on the heated platform.
6. Connect the coffee maker to the power supply.
7. Press the Start / Stop button to start making coffee. The indicator on the button comes on and coffee preparation starts.
8. To stop the coffee brewing process, press the “Start / Stop” button, the indicator on the button will go out.
9. During preparation, you can remove the pot from the coffee maker to pour coffee. The anti-drip system will work - coffee brewing will pause and resume when the coffee pot is returned to its place. In this case, the coffee maker will not interrupt the brewing process, therefore, put the coffee pot back within 20-30 seconds, since during this time the coffee funnel may overflow and the drink will start dripping onto the heated platform. If this still happens, immediately replace the coffee pot.
10. At the end of preparation, the coffee maker will switch to heating mode: the platform will heat the coffee pot for 40 minutes in total with the brewing process, after this time the coffee maker will turn off automatically.
11. At the end of use, disconnect the coffee maker from the power supply.
12. Open the lid, remove the filter and clean it from the coffee brew. If using disposable filters, remove the funnel and discard the filter with the infusion.

Tips & Tricks

It is recommended to serve coffee immediately after preparation.

The volume of the prepared drink will be slightly less than the amount poured into

water tank, as some of the water will be absorbed by the coffee grounds in the filter.

Instead of the reusable filter, you can also use disposable paper filters (sold separately).

Store coffee in a well-closed container for better aroma preservation.

It is recommended to grind the coffee beans for aromatic coffee.

just before brewing.

Move the coffee maker carefully with the tank full, as water may spill out through the opening in the back of the tank.

When pouring coffee, do not tilt the pot too much, otherwise coffee may spill past the cup.

You can warm up coffee in a coffee pot. To do this, place it on a heated platform, make sure there is no water in the tank of the coffee maker, then turn the coffee maker into the coffee brewing mode. The platform turns on and the coffee in the pot starts to warm up. The power of the heated platform is low, so it will take more than 10 minutes to heat up large quantities of coffee.

Do not heat the pot in the microwave as it contains metal parts!

Before preparing the second coffee, take a short break to cool the coffee maker.

After interrupting coffee preparation with the “Start / Stop” button, water from the filter can continue to flow into the pot.

Do not fill the tank with warm water, as this can lead to an overflow of the filter during the cooking process: hot water heats up faster and therefore is fed into the filter faster.

Cleaning, care and storage

Disconnect the power supply before cleaning and servicing the coffee maker. Clean the filter and funnel after each use. Be careful: they may be hot immediately after cooking! Wash them with warm water and soap.

Wipe the outside and inside of the enclosure and the heated platform first with a damp cloth and then with a dry cloth.

Store the coffee maker in a cool and dry place out of the reach of children.

Descaling

Descale from time to time (depending on the hardness of the water used).

1. Fill the water tank with diluted descaler (3% citric acid solution can be used) to the maximum level.

2. Replace the funnel and filter, but do not add coffee to them. Replace the coffee pot.

3. Connect the coffee maker to the power supply. Press the Start / Stop button. When about 1 glass of water has flowed into the pot, interrupt the process by pressing the “Start / Stop” button.

4. Wait 15-30 minutes, then press the “Start / Stop” button and wait for the process to finish.

5. Empty the pot. Then fill the tank with clean water (do not put coffee in the filter) and carry out the coffee preparation process. Repeat this step 3 times to rinse the coffee maker.

Troubleshooting

The lid does not close tightly

The funnel may be installed incorrectly.

The anti-drip system does not work: coffee continues to flow when you take out the coffee pot

The valve is probably clogged. Remove the funnel and rinse it under running water while pressing the valve with your hand to rinse it.Release the valve, fill the funnel with water: the valve should hold water.

To prevent clogging of the valve, do not overfill the filter: do not put too much coffee brew in the filter, do not pour hot water into the water tank. If the filter is overfilled, the brewed coffee along with the brew can enter the funnel and clog the valve.

It is also possible that you have removed the pot for too long. If the valve in the funnel is closed and the brewing process continues, the funnel will overflow and coffee will flow downward around the funnel.

Can I use a different container instead of a coffee pot?

No. When the coffee pot is inserted into the coffee maker, its lid presses on the anti-drip valve and it opens, allowing coffee to drain from the filter into the coffee pot. If an unsuitable container is used, the valve will remain closed, this will interfere with the normal functioning of the coffee maker and may cause it to break.
