Note

We celebrated the last Day of the Motorist in an Azerbaijani restaurant. It was there that I tried Shaker-Bura for the first time. I liked it very much. And it turns out that the recipe has been at hand for many years, in the cookbook "Eastern Sweets". Well, there are many recipes for these pastries on the Internet. Of course, my shaker-drill did not work out the same as in a restaurant ... But, I did them for the first time, and everything, as you know, comes with experience. The taste is, of course, very close, but the appearance ... To get beautiful sides, in Asia they use special tweezers, apply the traditional "nahysh" - a delicate pattern. For these purposes, I used a fork, a curly dough knife and my husband's hands, who have extensive experience in sculpting dumplings.
What is Shaker-Bura? "Shaker" is translated from modern Azerbaijani as "sugar", and in Sumerian - "shak" (sak) - "sand". "Boer" from the ancient Türkic stands for "magic, sorcery", and in ancient Sumer the word "boer" was a priest who possessed magical power and the gift of divination. So we get "sugar magic". Enjoy your tea !!!
