Auvernsky Lentil Soup Slow Cooker Kitfort KT 2010

Ingredients

Water 1L
Lentils 175 g
Potatoes 250 g
Bulb onions 3 medium
Celery root, or petiole (fresh, or from the freezer) 100 g
Butter 30 g
Allspice, peas 3 pcs
Ground coriander pinch
Salt taste
Fresh parsley, or from the freezer 2 twigs

Cooking method

  • 1. Pour 1 liter of cold water into the slow cooker bowl, set MAXIMUM mode.
  • It took me 9 hours to cook this soup to the desired softness of all ingredients and the appearance of a delicate, sweetish smell, so it can be cooked at night (I used a socket-timer)
  • 2. Cleanly wash lentils (regular, brown) and put in a bowl.
  • 3. We clean, wash and cut into cubes with a side of about 5 mm
  • potatoes
  • celery (I had a petiole, from the freezer)
  • onion
  • and whole sprigs of parsley (from my freezer)
  • add to the bowl, cover and cook for 9 hours, placing a thin foil flagellum under the lid to allow steam to escape (if your lid does not block the holes on the bowl and the steam comes out quietly on its own, then you will not need the flagellum)
  • 4. Then put salt to taste, butter, allspice and coriander into the soup, mix, turn off the device and let the soup brew until pleasantly warm (I had it for 4 hours).
  • 5. WIPE THE SOUP THROUGH THE SITO. In my opinion, this is very important, because each time there is more or less hard fibers in the sieve, which I throw away.
  • The soup turns out to be tender, airy, with a mild flavor, it differs from the usual lentil soup.
  • I eat this soup with potato chips or bread * finn crisp *

The dish is designed for

1200 ml

Note

I found the recipe for this soup a long time ago on the cook's website. RU. I cook every year in autumn and winter.
In a slow cooker, it is less hassle with it than on the stove and it tastes and texture better than in a multicooker.

The flavor of the soup can be varied, for example
if you put grated cheese in a portioned plate and pour over hot soup,
or add grated canned tomatoes, garlic and chopped sausage (ham) to the soup bowl

Hello. Please tell me why you need a steam outlet (flagellum) from under the lid? I'm not getting steam. I assumed that it should be.

Zasimka,
All slow cookers are different, I am writing specifically for this model, it is more active than others.
If there are no problems with the jumping lid, then, of course, nothing under the lid is necessary.

Thanks for the answer. I have a CT-2012 and the lid does not jump. I bought it a week ago, I am mastering a new product. I learned about the existence of slow cookers a couple of months ago, and immediately became interested. There is no multicooker and there never was (there was something I didn’t like about them, I don’t understand what). But when I saw the slow, I immediately wanted to buy it. I felt straight - mine. Tonight I cooked lentil soup according to your recipe. By the smell I feel that it will be delicious. Thanks for the recipes.
