Ingredients

Sugar 200 g
Water 50 ml
Oil sl. 60 g
Fat sour cream 600 g
Nuts 100 g
Sweet corn flakes (or chopped biscuit / cookies) 150 g
Gelatin 1.5 tsp.
Vanilla sugar 1-2 tsp

Cooking method

  • No bake cake CaramelPour sugar into a small ladle with a thick bottom, add water and boil the caramel over low heat until it reaches an amber color. Try not to digest, otherwise the sweetness will be lost and bitterness will be acquired.
    No bake cake CaramelRemove the syrup from the heat, put butter in it, mix.
    No bake cake CaramelThe next step is to put 100 grams of sour cream in hot syrup. Mix well with a whisk and set aside to cool. At first, the caramel looks liquid, but don't let that bother you - after cooling it will become much thicker.
    No bake cake CaramelYou can take any nuts. The author used peanuts, I preferred walnuts. They should be lightly fried, chopped with a knife and mixed with a third cooled caramel.
    No bake cake CaramelAdd the remaining two-thirds of the caramel mass to 500 g of sour cream, mix well and add vanilla sugar and gelatin, previously soaked in two tablespoons of water and dissolved in a water bath or in a microwave, here. Mix everything well again.
    No bake cake CaramelCover the form (my size is 22x12 cm) with cling film and, tamping, put the caramel-nut mass on the bottom
    No bake cake CaramelPour the next layer of flakes (either biscuit crumbs or chopped cookies)

It all depends on the degree of cooked caramel - it is clear from my color that it is “on the edge”, no longer too sweet, it could burn a little more, from the sweetness of the flakes and from the acidity of sour cream.
