Blueberry jam with surprise

Ingredients

Blueberry 1 kg
Pears 2 pcs. (~ 250 gr)
Ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp
Whole cinnamon 1/3 sticks per jar
Sugar 1.25 kg

Cooking method

  • Peel the pears, core and cut into cubes. It is better to take dense pears, then they will be soaked in syrup in the jam and will greatly complement it with their fragrant pieces.

  • Place berries and chopped pears in a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  • Pour in all the sugar, you need as much sugar as the weight of the berries and pears, and cook for another 5 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved. Instead of regular sugar, you can use sugar with pectin, but already half as much.
  • Add ground cinnamon and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Blueberry jam with surprise
  • Put a piece of cinnamon at the bottom of each sterile jar, pour hot jam and close the lids.
  • Ready jam after cooling both with sugar and sugar with pectin is quite jelly and very tasty.

Note

Blueberry jam in our family was not particularly fond of and constantly had to attach it somewhere, but now there is not enough until the next harvest. Try it, it’s so unusual and delicious.

But you have a lot of Blueberries in the Far East (are you from there?). I remember the large “blueberries” (my sister and I called them that way) were picked in Birobidzhan when we went to see our Relatives.

Do you have blueberries in Vyatka in September? ... That's YES ... In the Krasnoyarsk Territory in July (from the 15th) blueberries are harvested. It is a pity that I cannot check the taste of the jam according to your recipe, although I collected pears in the garden the day before yesterday. Thanks for the recipe anyway.

We have a very large area, they begin to bring blueberries from the southern regions in early July, and finish in early September from the northern regions. The berry is not cheap, so we don't buy buckets, but we can pamper ourselves - I found my recipe, and I wish you
If desired, this jam can also be cooked from frozen berries, only sugar in this case is better to use with pectin or try next year

Very interesting jam, Tanya!
I do not seem to be very good at jam, but this is more likely due to the fact that in childhood I was not pampered with a special variety.
As I remember, it was either currant or raspberry, and here is blueberry !!!
Tanya, do you feel the pear pieces after cooking?
This year I will not weld, and next year there are sooo many plans. Let's cook!
Thank you, Tanya!

Ritochka, that's why I take more dense pears, I really like when they are soaked in syrup. Blueberries are a very delicate berry and when cooked they usually boil, but here such a zest turns out, like eating blueberry jam, and where are juicy, dense pieces And cinnamon very well complements the taste of the jam, it seems to become more saturated
As soon as I didn't make blueberries, well, they don't go with us, and this jam does not live up to spring

Thanks for the recipe. It's a pity there is no photo of the jam itself, well, Schaub on a silver platter ...
