Note

Eton mess is a classic English dessert that has been served to players and fans since the mid-19th century during the annual cricket competition at Eton College. Local legend has it that the dessert was invented at a picnic when someone's dog turned over a meringue dish. Saved meringues by combining them with cream and strawberries. It turned out very sloppy, but very tasty. Therefore, the dessert was named the Eton Disorder. In D. Oliver's translated books, this dessert is called "Eton Kneading". But it looks more like a "mess".
Initially, the dessert was prepared only with strawberries. Now there are a lot of options. I saw in foreign blogs a tropical version with mango and passionfruit, citrus with oranges. I decided what I would do with what I had at home at the moment.
This is delicious. Recommend!

Olya, to health. You always have meringues and cream. I am already silent about fruits. A couple of minutes and ... Taste in a glass.

Dined with this dessert. What can I say, it's easy, delicious, thanks, Angela, for sharing this recipe. There are always remnants of meringues, at least a few pieces, Pavlova, I make small flat cakes type of baskets, whipping cream is a matter of a minute, and fruits and berries are also available. But the mind was not enough to connect all this. True, it did not interlayer, and the berries were placed on top when serving.

Thanks for the recipe! And approximately how long can a dessert stand before eating, or only immediately on the table? Is it completely impossible in advance?

Dunyaz, an hour, probably, can. But you can prepare everything, go about your business and mix before serving. A matter of minutes. The cream whips quickly.

And just the other day (in the book Thesaurus of Tastes) I saw such a variant of this name - Etonian mishmash
