Margarita Aliyeva
Hello! I bought myself a bread pan on an Amazon. There are no clear instructions (A form without a glaze coating, I don’t know, maybe it’s better to soak it in water so that it doesn’t crack? How to heat it before planting bread - put it in a cold oven?
Does the bread pan need to be soaked before use?

Margarita, you don't need to wet her. Before using it for the first time, heat it in the oven, put it in a cold oven, set it to 200. I ignited it for about 40 minutes, or maybe I don't remember anymore
Before baking bread, put it in a cold oven, set it to the desired t and let it warm up. Since I bake on a stone with a hood, to be sure I heat it for 40-60 minutes.

Margarita, I have such a long one, I love it very much. You do not need to soak, heat with the oven, and that's it. Like a stone. And I leave it to cool with the oven

Thank you very much, now the situation has cleared up))

Marinuly, and heat it together to the hood? Just put in the oven and ignite both parts?
Olga VB
Margarita Aliyeva, bake a new one for about an hour along with the lid in the oven at the maximum temperature that you maintain. Put the bottom and the lid separately in a cold oven and after turning off do not immediately take it out, let it cool there. This procedure is more for safety net, because according to the technology, such forms are baked at a very high temperature (450-600-800 * C)
If everything goes well, then use it for baking.
After molding, I put the bread immediately in the form on baking paper under the lid. After proving, I put it all in a cold oven, turn on 230 * C for 40 (for wheat) - 50 (for rye) minutes. Then I remove the lid, reduce the temperature to 180 * C and leave it for another 10 (millet) -15 (rye) minutes.
About soaking.
Unglazed ceramics absorb water well, so soaking can be used for baking items that require a lot of steam. If there is no such extreme, but you just need to bake with steam, then there is enough liquid in the dough to create this steam under the lid.
Good luck!

Olga VB, thanks, I almost did so) I calcined an hour yesterday, today I baked bread. Only the form was heated before baking, and allowed to stand in a bamboo form for bread. Then she just dumped the bread into a hot mold. The bread turned out to be fabulous! Nothing stuck, he jumped out into his hands))

Margarita, warm everything together (put in a cold oven). And Olya correctly wrote to you what to leave in the oven until it cools completely, I missed this moment.
Sorry for not answering right away, but Olya gave a detailed answer.

Olga VB, Ol, why separate the lid from the mold?

why separate the lid from the mold?
Helen, not just separately, but at least ajar, so that everything warms up more evenly, because inside the greenhouse can organize itself. This is when you are not sure about the dishes and you ignite them before using them for the first time.

I would not dare to do this, because when the cold dough comes into contact with the hot mold, the clay may not withstand the temperature difference and crack.
In a cast-iron goose maker, such tricks pass normally, but it is still better to heat the clay together with the workpiece gradually.
Good luck!

Olga VB I will try next time as you say

Ol, but the dough is not so cold. Do you think you can still crack?
And if the form is glazed, is it more durable, or is it for beauty?
Cifra
Olga VB, well, maybe without a cover the first time is better.
And about the proofing in the basket - I always do this, and I always dump the workpiece into a very hot mold. It performs the function of a stone, so I have been using it as a baking stone on a hearth for many years. The workpiece is not cold after proofing, why suddenly the form will crack?
I have exactly the same American shape as Margarita, but not round:
