Ingredients

For cakes 6-8 pcs:
Sugar 1 glass
Sour cream 1 glass
Flour 4 glasses
Oil 50 g
Soda 1 tsp
Cocoa 2 tbsp. l
For the cream:
Sour cream 1.5 cups
Sugar 1 glass
Vanillin 1 sachet
Nuts (to taste) 100-150 gr
Glass 250 ml

Cooking method

Once upon a time I came across a recipe for the Paul Robson cake. And this cake became one of my favorites. The prescription cream is sour cream. But I tried others: custard, butter-boiled condensed milk, cream cheese. And most of all I still like custard.
In the photo, I have more cakes than according to the recipe, since I did a little more dough to make the cake taller.

For the cream, beat the sour cream with sugar. Add chopped nuts and mix. Put away in the cold.

Beat softened butter with sugar and sour cream.
Add baking soda, quenched with vinegar or lemon juice.

Divide the dough in two. Add cocoa to one of them. Mix well.

Then add about 2 cups of sifted flour to each.

Knead the dough. The dough should be soft, elastic and not stick to your hands.

Divide the chocolate dough into 4 equal sized balls, cover with plastic wrap or a towel to keep it dry.

Also divide the white dough.

Preheat oven to 200 gr. Roll the balls of dough in turn. It is better to roll it through parchment. Chop the cake with a fork. Bake each cake for about 5 minutes - the main thing is not to dry it out. Cut off the finished cake immediately to 20 cm.

Alternating the cakes by color and smearing with cream, collect the cake and leave it in the cold to soak at least overnight, and if time permits, then for longer. The better the cake is soaked, the tastier it will be.

Pour icing on the top of the finished cake, and sprinkle the sides with biscuit crumbs. I've got cream covered with cheese and decorated with roses.

Volgas, thanks for the recipe for this cake! My husband's grandmother cooked this. I made it according to her recipe with condensed milk and butter, for us it turned out to be "heavy". I just thought sour cream would be best for us here.
