Steam station Kitfort KT-944

The steam station KT-944 is a modern ironing device that replaces an iron and a steamer. The device consists of an iron for ironing, an iron stand (body) with a removable water tank. The device provides continuous steam. The intensity of the steam can be adjusted. The steam station allows you to iron faster and more efficiently than an iron. For example, if it takes about 15 minutes to iron a shirt and trousers with an ordinary iron, then with a steam station you can do it in 5 minutes. Thanks to the power of the steam generated by the steam station, it is possible to efficiently iron sheets and towels that are folded in several layers. The appliance is equipped with a vertical steaming function.

Unlike conventional irons, where steam is supplied by supplying water to the heated inner surface of the iron soleplate, the KT-944 steam station has a boiler for preheating water and generating steam. The water from the reservoir is pumped into the boiler, which is located in the building of the steam station. Here the water heats up and evaporates. Then the steam, through the iron hose, enters the iron and comes out of the holes in the iron soleplate. Thus, the amount of moisture and water droplets falling on the clothes is reduced.

The KT-944 has a small body and does not take up much space. The iron itself is lightweight and has a ceramic sole. The ceramic outsole glides well and is easy to clean. Such an iron will not make clothes puffs and unnecessary folds.

In addition to ironing, the steam station processes things with a powerful jet of hot steam, thus carrying out cleaning and disinfection. You can steam curtains and drapes (you do not need to remove them for this), upholstery, mattresses, beds. You can also steam clothes that are hanging from a hanger, on a tumble dryer or on a rope. At the same time, you will not only smooth out the wrinkles, but also freshen things, and also disinfect them, as the hot steam kills dust mites and other microorganisms.

The steam station also allows ironing things that are usually not ironed, for example, fluffy dresses with a complex structure, fur coats and sheepskin coats. It can also be used to prepare things for the season that have a musty smell during storage - the steam station solves this problem without any washing. If you were in a smoky room and your clothes smelled of tobacco, then using the steam station you can quickly remove the smell and refresh it.

The soleplate of the iron is designed to smooth clothes on a flat surface. Steam vents are located along the perimeter and in the front of the sole. Caution! Do not touch the soleplate with your hands during operation or for several hours after turning off the steam station. You can burn yourself.

The thermal protective coating of the steam station body protects the plastic of the body from being melted by the iron soleplate.

The power button is used to start or stop the steam station. The power button light flashes when the steam station is connected to the mains. After turning on the steam station by pressing the power button once, the indicator of the power button will be on continuously.

The handle for removing the water tank is at the same time the holder of the tank in the body of the steam station and the handle for removing it. To remove the water tank, grasp the handle from below, push, and pull the tank towards you.

The cord storage strap is designed to secure the power cord to the steam station body. This can be convenient when storing or transporting the steam station.

The water filling spout is designed to add water to the tank. You can add water to the reservoir without removing it from the case. To do this, pull the nose towards you. You can add water to the resulting gutter.

The no water indicator will flash red if the water tank is out of water or there is no water.

The steam ready indicator is used to determine the steam readiness. If the indicator is flashing, steam is being prepared. The indicator is on constantly - steam is ready, you can start dispensing.

The steam button is used to turn on the steam supply. Steam comes out of the soleplate when the button is pressed. If you release the steam button, steam delivery stops.

The constant steam switch is designed to enable continuous steam. When the switch is moved to the "LOCK" position steam will be supplied continuously. The steam button will be locked in this case. Switch off continuous steam when placing the iron on the steam station.

The regulator of the intensity of the steam supply is designed to select the intensity of the steam supply. When the maximum steam flow rate is selected, the steam output is 90 ± 20 grams per minute.

The iron thermostat is designed to set the temperature of the soleplate of the iron. An indicator light is located next to the thermostat. If the indicator light is on, heating occurs. When the iron reaches the set temperature, the indicator will go out.

Preparing for operation of the steam station Kitfort KT-944

Place the steam station on a flat, horizontal, stable surface. Wipe the soleplate with a damp and then dry cloth.
Make sure the continuous steam switch is off.

How to fill the water tank

  • Make sure the device is disconnected from the mains.
  • Remove the water tank. To do this, press down on the reservoir extraction handle and pull it towards you.
  • Fill the reservoir with water no higher than the MAX mark and no less than 300 ml.

Advice
You can pour water into the tank without removing it, to do this, pull the spout towards you and pour water into the spout chute. For this, it is better to use a container with a narrow spout so that the water flows in a thin stream.

It is better to use distilled or filtered water. This will reduce the formation of limescale. If you are unable to use distilled or filtered water, use boiled water cooled down to room temperature.

With constant use, it is recommended to periodically completely replace the water in the tank and rinse the tank to avoid stagnation and rotting of water.

Kitfort KT-944 dry burrowing tips

Sort by fabric type before ironing.

The iron heats up faster than it cools. Therefore, it is recommended to iron items at a low temperature first, such as synthetics, then items that require a higher temperature, such as silk and wool, and items made of cotton and linen last.

If the fabric is embossed or corrugated, it is best to iron it at a low temperature.

If the fabric contains mixed fibers, it is necessary to set the temperature for the fabric that requires the lowest temperature.

If you do not know the composition of the fabric, then determine the temperature regime empirically by ironing a small area that is not noticeable when using the product. Start at the lowest temperature and gradually increase it until the fabric begins to straighten.

Corduroy and other fabrics that quickly start to shine should be ironed in the direction of the pile with slight pressure.

It is recommended to iron things made of silk, wool, synthetics from the inside out in order to prevent the appearance of shiny spots.

Steaming

  • Fill the reservoir with water.
  • Connect the steam station to the power supply.
  • Press the power button on the steam station body.
  • Set the thermostat on the iron to the Silk / Wool or Cotton / Linen position.
  • Wait for the iron to heat up and the heat indicator on the iron turns off.
  • Set the steam intensity using the steam intensity regulator on the steam station housing. The values of the positions of the steam supply regulator are presented in the table.
  • Iron things.
  • After the end of steaming, stop the steam dispensing, wait until the steam dispensing stops, place the iron on the platform and turn off the steam station with the button on the body.

Steaming tips

For the most effective combination of the smoothing properties of steam and iron, the position of the steam regulator must match the position of the thermostat on the iron.If the steam output is set to a higher value than the soleplate heating, water droplets may form on the surface of the soleplate.

Press the steam button. Steam will begin to escape through the holes in the sole. Caution! When you turn on the steam for the first time, drops of boiling water may splash out of the iron together with a powerful jet of steam. The first time steam is dispensed, direct the iron to a clear area.

Release the steam button and after a while the steam will stop dispensing. You can lock the steam button in the pressed position by moving the continuous steam switch on the iron handle to the “LOCK” position.

When steam is supplied, a faint noise of the pump pumping water from the reservoir can sometimes be heard. The pump supplies water to the boiler in portions as the previous portion of water evaporates.

If you have not used the steaming function for a while, press the steam button several times, directing the steam away from the fabric, this will drain the condensation from the steam hose.

The steam station is equipped with an electronically controlled valve, when you press the steam button, the shutter in the steam station body is triggered with a characteristic click. It opens or closes the steam supply valve. This is normal and not a malfunction.

Do not steam synthetics, nylon, rayon or natural silk. Steaming these fabrics can damage the fabric and the soleplate.

Do not use steam at the thermostat position on the Nylon / Synthetic iron or below. In this case, water may drip from the sole.

During breaks and after the end of work, place the iron on the platform, after waiting for the steam to stop coming out of the holes of the sole. Do not allow water droplets to form on the site.

The surface of the ironing board must be suitable for steam to pass through. It is not recommended to use a wooden board - under the influence of steam it will get wet and deteriorate. It is best to use a soft cloth ironing board.

Vertical steaming

The vertical steaming mode is very convenient for processing curtains and other delicate items, for example, suits and dresses, items embroidered with beads and other decorative elements.
  • Hang the garment on a hanger and pull it slightly downward with your hand.
  • Turn the thermostat on the iron and the steam and steam regulator to the "MAX" position.
  • Take the iron in your other hand and, while pressing the steam button, move the iron from top to bottom. If the fabric is thin and delicate, hold the iron a few centimeters away from it. If you are steaming cotton and linen products, it is allowed to contact the sole of the iron with the fabric.

Attention! The steam is supplied at a very high temperature, therefore, under no circumstances handle items that are worn by a person.

Cleaning and maintenance

Wipe the cabinet with a dry or damp cloth. Do not use a dishwasher for washing.

Regular cleaning

Unplug the steam station from the mains and wait until the iron has cooled down completely (about 2 hours after ironing).
Wipe the cabinet with a dry or damp cloth.
Deposits on the soleplate of the iron can be removed well with a cloth soaked in a water-vinegar solution. After removing deposits, wipe the surface of the soleplate with a damp and then dry cloth.
Attention! Do not use abrasive cleaners to clean the iron. Avoid contact of the sole with sharp or metal objects.

Flushing the water tank

To extend the service life of the steam station and to avoid deposits, the water tank should be rinsed after every 10th use. Drain the water tank if you are not going to use the appliance for more than a few days.

  • Remove the reservoir from the steam station housing.
  • Fill the reservoir 3/4 full with water using a pitcher or measuring cup.
  • Shake the tank gently several times, then turn over over the sink to drain the tank completely.
  • Try the operation again.
  • Rinse the cartridge under running water before installing it into the housing.
  • Put the cartridge and water tank back in place.

Boiler flushing

It is recommended to clean the boiler for the first time after the first 5 uses.

Before cleaning the boiler, depressurize the boiler:

  • Empty the water tank. Switch on the steam station and set
steam to maximum. Wait until the steam ready indicator stops flashing and stays on. The water indicator will flash red. This is normal.
  • Place the iron upright on a flat surface, away from other objects.
  • Turn the continuous steam switch to the LOCK position. Steam will come out of the soleplate.
  • Wait for the steam to stop coming out of the soleplate. This will mean that the water in the tank has run out.
  • Disconnect the steam station from the power supply and let it cool down for 3-5 hours.
  • Next, clean the boiler: Remove the cap of the boiler drain plug.
  • Using a coin or flat-head screwdriver, unscrew the boiler plug counterclockwise.
  • Dissolve 3 tablespoons of citric acid in 500 ml of warm water.
  • Place the steam station on its side. Pour the mixture into the boiler using a bowl with a narrow spout or a funnel. Screw on the boiler plug.
  • Shake the boiler gently and let sit for about 1 hour.
  • Unscrew the boiler plug. Drain the sink and fill with clean water.
  • Re-tighten the plug and shake the housing gently.
  • Drain the water.
  • The steam station is ready for operation.

Clean the boiler at least every 10 uses or if the steam intensity is noticeable. After the first cleaning of the boiler, you will understand how much scale is formed in the boiler after 5 uses. In the future, you will perform cleaning either more or less often.

Do not allow large amounts of scale to accumulate in the boiler, this will impede the formation of steam and may damage the structure of the steam station. Scale flakes can clog valves and connections, so clean the boiler regularly.
