Preparing for work and using the Kitfort KT-2214 airfryer

Before first use

Unpack your airfryer and remove all packing material. Wipe the body of the airfryer and the bowl with a soft, damp cloth. Wash the bowl and wire rack thoroughly with warm water, detergent and a non-abrasive sponge.

The device is ready for use.

First use

The first time you need to turn on the device for 5 minutes without food, while a specific odor may be released. This is normal and harmless.

Turning on the airfryer

Place the device on a flat, horizontal surface away from heat sources. Do not block the air intake and exhaust openings on the top of the Airfryer, otherwise air circulation will be impaired, which could affect the hot air cooking process.

Connect the power cord to a power source.

Using the airfryer

  • Place the bowl in the airfryer and the wire rack on it. If you need to mix food, install a paddle on the shaft.
  • Place food in the basket without exceeding the MAX level. Attention! Never add more than the MAX level to the basket.
  • Close the device with the lid, a sound signal will sound, the display will show the symbols "-".
  • Press the Start / Stop button. A beep will sound and the display will alternate between the default settings: time 15 minutes and temperature 185 ° C. If necessary, set the desired cooking time and temperature or press the "Menu" button to select an automatic program (see the chapter "Control panel").
    Note. You can change the temperature and time during cooking.
  • If you want the paddle to stir the food, press the "Stir" button, the paddle indicator will light up. Then you will not need to take out the food and stir them yourself while cooking.
    Note. If you open the lid of the airfryer during cooking, after closing the lid of the airfryer, the "Stir" button will need to be pressed again for the paddle to continue stirring.
  • Press the "Start / Stop" button to start the cooking process. The display will show the current temperature and time until the end of cooking. Sticky fat from food collects at the bottom of the bowl. Note. You can preheat your airfryer. This is especially recommended for baking. To do this, press the “Start / Stop” button, set the timer time to 5 minutes, press the “Start / Stop” button again and wait until the airfryer turns off. Then place the food in the bowl and start the cooking process. You can also add 5 minutes to the cooking time if the airfryer has not been preheated.
  • If you have not installed the spatula, then periodically take out the food and shake it or turn it over during cooking. This is necessary to make the dish crispy and have an even color. To do this, remove the bowl from the airfryer by the handle and shake it. When the bowl is removed from the appliance, the cooking process will automatically pause. After returning the bowl to the airfryer, the cooking process will resume. By shaking, you can see the degree of readiness of the products, and the process itself can be observed through the window on the front of the case.
  • At the end of the set cooking time, the airfryer will beep and turn off the heating element. The fan will run for about 45 seconds after the end of cooking. Remove the bowl from the device and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
    Note. You can also force the cooking process to end. To do this, press the "Start / Stop" button.
  • If the food is not yet ready, put the bowl back and set the timer for a few more minutes.
  • Gently transfer the finished dish to a plate or other container.Do not turn the wire rack upside down until it is separated from the bowl, as fat collected in the bowl will spill onto the food. If the pieces are large, use tongs.
    Note. Steam may escape from the bowl when cooking certain types of food.

Attention! Due to the design features, condensation accumulates inside the appliance under the bowl. From time to time, while cooking, raise the bowl and blot the condensation with a napkin or rag so that it does not get inside through the hole for the spindle.

After a portion of food is ready, the heated airfryer is ready for the next portion.

Cooking tips

  • The non-stick coating is not an independent protection against the adhesion of burnt food, since there are irregularities and micro-relief on the surface of the coating, due to which the food can burn and stick. Therefore, before each use of the Airfryer, grease the bowl and grate with a napkin soaked in vegetable oil. This will eliminate food sticking and increase the life of the non-stick coating.
  • Small ingredients require less cooking time.
  • We recommend shaking the food halfway through the cooking time. To do this, set the timer for half the time, and after shaking, for the remaining time. But if you have installed the spatula and pressed the "Stir" button, then the spatula will stir the food during cooking. Then you will not need to take out the food and stir them yourself while cooking.
  • Do not place the ingredients above the spatula or the top layer will not mix.
  • When cooking fresh potatoes, add oil to make them crispy:
    • peel the potatoes and cut them in any way;
    • Soak the potato slices in water for at least 30 minutes, then remove and dry them with a kitchen napkin;
    • take a container and add half a tablespoon of oil to it;
    • add potatoes to the container and mix with oil;
    • remove the potatoes from the container and place them on the grill of the airfryer;
    • Shake the potato bowl halfway through the frying time, unless the Stir button has been turned on to start the spatula.
  • To oil larger foods (such as drumsticks or cuts of meat):
    • dry the food with a tea towel if necessary;
    • Lightly oil the food or use a spray bottle. The oil is applied in one layer. If there is a lot of oil, it will drip onto the bowl during the cooking process.
  • When cooking bread crumbs, be sure to add some oil to the bread crumbs for a crisp finish.
  • In order not to grease a dish of meat or poultry with oil, it can be marinated.
  • Only add oil when cooking with fresh, unprepared ingredients (for example, freshly peeled potatoes or raw chicken). The oil will enhance the flavor of the dish and create a crispy crust.
  • Do not add too much oil, as this can make the crust less crispy and the food greasy.
  • When cooking foods that are too fat, such as sausages or fatty meats, white smoke may come out of the bowl. These foods can be breaded to prevent the fat from dripping into the bowl. You can also remove the fat from the bowl with a paper towel while cooking.
  • Try to choose foods that are low in fat. Foods that are high in fat are harder to cook with a crispy crust.
  • Small baked goods, muffins, filled dishes, or other delicate ingredients can be cooked on parchment paper or aluminum foil on a wire rack. Try to use as little paper or foil as possible so that there is room for air flow around the food. Paper and foil should never go beyond the edges of the grill.
  • Do not place baking paper and aluminum foil on the bowl where grease and dirt accumulate. Air circulation will decrease and the cooking process will become less efficient.
  • Ready-made commercial dough bakes faster than homemade dough.
  • You can use your Airfryer to make toast. To do this, place the toast on the wire shelf and set the timer to 5 minutes and the temperature to 200 ° C.
  • Preheat the appliance for 5 minutes before baking.
  • You can use the airfryer to heat food. To do this, set the temperature to 150 ° C and the timer to 5-10 minutes.

Cleaning and maintenance of the Kitfort KT-2214 airfryer

Always clean the device after use.

Unplug the airfryer before cleaning and wait until it has completely cooled down. Remove the bowl to cool the appliance faster.

Clean the bowl immediately after cooking oily food. Put on gloves, grab plenty of paper towels, and blot the oil on the bottom of the bowl. If the fat is allowed to cool, it can thicken and be difficult to remove from the surface of the bowl.

The bowl and grill are non-stick coated, so do not use sharp metal objects or aggressive or abrasive detergents or scouring pads for cleaning. Remember that the cover is easily damaged.

Attention! Do not immerse the bowl and wire shelf in water or under running water immediately after cooking. Due to the sudden temperature changes, the non-stick coating may peel off. Wait until they have cooled to room temperature before cleaning. Wash the wire rack and bowl with hot water, mild detergent and a sponge.

Do not wash the rack or bowl in the dishwasher: chemicals and high water pressure in the dishwasher can cause the non-stick coating to peel off. Use a wooden or rubber spatula to remove coarse food debris.

If dirt has adhered to the wire rack or the bottom of the bowl, fill it with hot water and detergent, then place the wire rack in the bowl and leave them in the water for about 30 minutes. Clean the inside of the device under hot water and using a non-abrasive sponge.

If grease stains on the bowl or wire rack cannot be removed with detergent, use a liquid degreaser.

If necessary, you can unscrew the 3 bolts and remove the mesh on the heating element. Use a nylon brush to remove food debris from the heating element. Make sure the heating element is cool before cleaning. Proceed very carefully.
