granulated sugar 2 tbsp. l
hot water 2 tbsp. l

milk
ice (optional)

Cooking method

Dalgona coffee

Dalgona coffee is a coffee drink that has become a trend on TikTok and Instagram in 2020 thanks to bloggers from South Korea. Dalgon coffee owes its name to the popular Korean candy based on caramel. The drink is prepared very quickly and consists of milk, sugar, instant coffee and boiling water, which must be mixed in proportions 1: 1: 1 and whipped until a thick cream.

Dalgona coffee
Mix instant coffee and sugar.
Dalgona coffee
Pour in hot water and stir.
Dalgona coffee
Beat until the mass brightens and greatly increases in volume. The consistency should resemble mousse.
Typically, dalgona coffee is served in a glass glass so that you can see the layer of whipped coffee foam gently fall on the surface of the milk. Pour milk into a glass (you can also take vegetable milk - coconut, oatmeal, almond), add ice cubes, put the whipped mixture on top and enjoy.

Come on. I also recently accidentally saw it on the Internet. I haven’t kept instant coffee in the house for a long time and I don’t drink it, but I wanted to try it so much that I ran to buy it and didn’t calm down until I did it
I liked it very much
Totosha
Wow, what a masterpiece! How to hold out until the morning to try))). Thank you very much for the recipe!

Everything new is well forgotten old

Dalgona coffee in India, China or Pakistan is known as whipped coffee, or #MacauCoffee. The popularity of the drink began to grow after its appearance on a Korean TV show: actor Jung Il Woo tasted such coffee in Macau and named it after dalgon sweets, which were immediately picked up by everyone around.
Cvetaal,

In the 80s, I strongly suspect that this is due to Olmpiada), we began to grind everything in a row with a spoon of coffee with sugar and a little water, in a cup before pouring boiling water over it.
On the surface of the coffee, a chiffchate formed, which was more beautiful and seemed to be tastier.
Electric mixers were a rarity, we didn’t guess to take a whisk - after all, someone originally told us the method with a spoon)) And it never occurred to us to take cold milk))
With a mixer, yeah ... a completely different look and taste.
Whipped coffee is delicious in cream, in biscuit dough, in ice cream.
My daughter does this in coffee cakes - either in dough or in cream. Or hot milk. But, he says, you can't endure a lot of such beaters, and it tastes bitter, and if, as usual, the usual portion of coffee and sugar per cup of boiling water or milk, or milk / water, then it's delicious.
For fun, methods of whipping cream coffee.

OOO, this method is even older, I assure you! In the late 60s, my uncle (now deceased) came from a long voyage (sailor) and brought us instant coffee. My mother whipped coffee, sugar and a spoonful of boiling water with a spoon right in the mug - more precisely, it would be "rubbed" along the bottom and walls (he taught))). Highly fast they did it by hand and for a long time! Tiring - so it seemed to me then! I was 4 years old ...
Since then, while mom was alive (until 2000), she made herself such coffee for "pampering"!
It all seemed divinely delicious !!!
... Apparently this method was known at that time and for a long time in some countries.
We were unfamiliar with such blenders.
I haven't done that in ages. But I think the result will be different - "more abruptly", with the participation of a blender!

So I remember from school. She loved the very process of the appearance of this foam and whipped it to dad and mom.

So this coffee doesn't taste bitter, but you won't eat much, because it's very sweet

Such beauty, Galya! And this is EATED, not drunk ...
(And I'm generally silent about the photo!)))
And we drank that coffee. It's just that there was a thick, thick foam on top! ..

If anyone is interested, it can be whipped without sugar. Well, what if someone wants to do it at sahzam. This recipe was more confusing at first. It was assumed that the water should be ice cold and only freeze-dried coffee. Then it turned out that it would go from normal temperature, coffee can also be any instant coffee, but I found out that sugar is not needed either.
I did it by whipping the coffee into a stable foam in a tall mixing bowl and keeping it in the freezer. Stored perfectly! You can, in principle, take such foam to work. Then she mixed a spoon with a slide into a cup of hot milk warmed up in the microwave - very tasty and the foam is much higher than in a latte. My husband said it was like dessert. But I also added vanillin when whipping.

Good thing! But it seems like I've already read about this recipe with a video posted here. Everything is indicated there easier - coffee + sugar + water by one measure and addition - you need a lot! milk, Patamushta is bitter!
Did - yummy!
P.S. girls ... well, without sugar ... there, and so the concentration of coffee is prohibitive, such specific bitterness, and if you also don't put sugar ...

Apparently dependent on coffee. The chibo that I used is not bitter, you can eat this mousse without milk, only it is very sweet. But if you reduce the sugar, by the way, I'll try to do this, since you can beat it without sugar. And I don't like milk, so I added a little.

I did it with hot and cold water, everything works out. I wanted to make it not with instant coffee, but strongly brewed in a Turk (it is argued that it is possible), but nothing worked for me.

that's just the name it owes to Korea, since it is plagiarism, this is an ordinary Greek frappe coffee, and we have been drinking it for a long time and whipped for a long time not with a mixer, but with a special device, but the Koreans decided to show off, the inventors
And you are smart, you have arranged everything well

Yes, the presentation is just super!
I do not drink milk, but shading the usual ice cream with such beauty is a great idea. Down a soft ice cream, and sprinkle with nuts on top, m-yum, you don't even need teramis.

... Apparently this method was known at that time and for a long time in some countries.

This is the simplest frappe coffee, which was invented quite by accident in 1957 in my hometown city beetle - Thessaloniki during the International Exhibition. This invention is a Greek patent, by the way. And for a long time it has been flowing through the veins of the Greeks, since we constantly drink frappe several times a day, cold, hot (then we call it NES), with the addition of milk and water, just water, ice cream))))

Maroshka, and I beat frappe even without a mixer, shake it well in a plastic bottle, I don't remember where I saw it. I cooked a couple of times, including at work.

it is quite possible, just the foam will be weaker, in our supermarkets there are glasses of coffee in case of emergency, which you just need to shake))) if you are too lazy to do or really too lazy to go to the store next to the house for a frappe))) I am my family in Russia I have brought special mixers for frappe to my girlfriends for a long time, they are indulging now .. And it is not necessary to prepare a bunch of foam, as the Koreans suggest ... it is quite easy to beat with a special mixer for 1 portion of 1 tsp. sugar and coffee, or more, to taste
Irina F
Maroshka, oh, how interesting! Can you show it, this mixer?
Gala
Irina, below is a link, you can see which mixer is used to make frappe and different methods of preparing frappe: with a mixer, in a glass and using a spoon. All that the girls were talking about above.

Galina, in principle, threw off a wonderful video, only there the proportion is semi-sweet, average 1.5, but here you already look at your taste the amount of sugar and coffee, ice cube 4, pour cold water + milk, you can ice cream balls - my favorite)) The main condition is 1 cm of water in a glass, otherwise the foam will be unstable and will quickly settle. If the froth is correct, it lasts half a day, since the Greeks can drink their coffee for several hours, chatting sweetly with someone. I think in Moscow you can find a shop with Greek goods, by the way, this mixer is great for whipping and warm milk for cappuccino

Special thanks to Galina for bringing up the topic of this drink

Shcha, I'll go straight to do ...
Dragged out of the city in the rain. I went for strawberries and Chibo freeze-dried coffee, as Gala advises, brought ...
(At home only in grains we have, we always drink freshly ground brewed)))
But ... something else ...

Without straws I ate with a spoon.

Made coffee today. I did experiments.
I tried to beat it without sugar. All right, everything worked out. But I don't know how long the foam can hold if left for a while.
I added less sugar, didn't like it, it wasn't tasty.
Beat with powdered sugar instead of sugar. It whips normally, but the foam falls off very quickly, not an option.
Irina F
Gala, Checkmark, thanks for the video!
A very interesting device! You should also know more precisely what it is called in order to score it in a search engine)
Thanks for the recipe! I remember in my youth we ground coffee with sugar, but of course this foam did not appear!

In short, you can probably on everyone!

So I came with a report - I beat with a bamix, a disc attachment (the fick knows how it is called correctly)
Dalgona coffee
Everything whipped up perfectly.
Here the question was precisely not to do it with a margin, but only for this, a small device is needed.
Here the bamix did it. The only thing, it seems to me, you can have a denser consistency. The bamix has two discs - one solid, the other with holes. So I did what with holes.

I beat it with a Brown whisk and an old mixer with two rotating nozzles. Beat in different ways. The old mixer did a better job - the mass increased greatly in volume, a thick, persistent foam was obtained, if the bowl did not flow out to turn over. The whisk did not beat like that.
Regarding the quantity, in the photo 1 portion - 1, 5 tbsp. l.

I don't understand why we cook at all then.

"Ate foam" .... this cream is a real delicate cream in the upper layer before mixing. I ate it with strawberries.

But .... it's here ... you know how much coffee the Greeks drink? woke up coffee, came to work - coffee, break - coffee, came home, ate, coffee)))) in the evening they can also go out with friends to drink coffee))) Therefore, it is no longer up to foam
in Russia, and everywhere where people try such a drink for the first time - everyone eats the foam, it's delicious))) But otherwise I agree ... if you think about what is harmful ... there will be nothing to eat)))

I drink coffee (with milk without sugar, I drink freshly ground) one once a day!
Strictly in the morning for breakfast with oatmeal!
This is my breakfast: boringly the same.
But I am his adore your breakfast. Oh, I forgot, plus some more dried toast made from half rye bread! I have a healthy breakfast ...
... And I tried this dessert for joy and diversity!
It's interesting!
(So I don’t count freeze-dried coffee for COFFEE, and I don’t keep it in the house)
... And here's another little idea. Well, maybe people know her even without me!
I cool specially freshly ground and brewed coffee and pour it into ice cube trays. It freezes, then I pour it into an airtight container for storage in the freezer. In the summer we love this drink: dissolve this drink in milk coffee ice!)))
Delicious! (The truth is, without "foam") ...
