Can you substitute something for sun-dried tomatoes? I saw them during a trip to Moscow, they were very expensive, I did not buy. And the bread is very beautiful. I would like to try. Maybe eat something similar in taste to these tomatoes.
Lena
Maybe paprika with petals?
I'll try one of these days, I can't care about tomatoes yet, and there are no such tomatoes.
Lola
Bulochka , to be honest, I have not tried to replace sun-dried tomatoes with anything. You can hardly replace them with something similar, except perhaps try tomato paste. Nothing else comes to mind. Dry mixtures with tomatoes still do not give the effect that the same tomato paste gives.
In Moscow, sun-dried tomatoes are really expensive. The range of prices from 170 rubles to 790 rubles - depends on the weight and the manufacturer's firm. (This is from what I came across)

Lena paprika is interesting. Can you share a recipe?

The question may be stupid. Are raw, finely chopped or grated tomatoes not suitable for this recipe?

It seems to me not. They will disperse through the dough, there is a lot of water in them, the peel will remain, which does not dissolve even from gastric juice. And then raw tomatoes do not have that specific taste that is found in sun-dried with butter and with spices.

That is, it's about spices. Everything else will disperse in the test for anyone, the water could be taken into account, the peel should be removed.

Today I bought dried tomatoes in oil at the Metro store in Moscow. An 800 gram jar full of tomatoes costs 194 rubles. There will be enough bread for five tomatoes, tomorrow I will try to bake. And which cheese is better to put in this bread?

It's a matter of taste. I often add "Edam".

Parmesan tastes very interesting!

This recipe inspired me to bake bread, which in our family is called Hungarian, because similar bread was served in the form of toast to goose liver in Budapest .. to the basic wheat bread, I add 10 grams of sweet pepper (paprika) and 5 tablespoons of dried chopped tomatoes, replace the oil from the recipe with tomato oil. If anyone is interested, I can fully describe the recipe, although I think the base wheat is different in different bread makers. The color turns out to be amazing .. very good in the form of croutons for soups.

Of course interesting! Lay out the recipe!

Moreover, I'm not going to make Hungarian goulash in a few days, your recipe will have to go to court.

Bun, sun-dried tomatoes are very easy to get yourself. Take a fresh tomato, cut it into wedges and microwave for 4 minutes at 750 watts. The water evaporates and they wither. How to cool down, you can use.
Elenushka
Thanks for the recipe, today I baked it for a test - it turned out what I needed ... it was impossible to leave it until it cools down, we tried it right away and took it with us to work :-)

the only change is that sun-dried tomatoes were dry-dried (I bought them in the "Azbuka Vkusa") and crumbled them in a coffee grinder, and + added a little ground sunflower and pumpkin seeds (I couldn't resist)

but there were questions
- how to proportionally increase the size of the bread? just one and a half times all the ingredients? Or do some products have a not entirely direct relationship?
- I have a Panasonic 255 oven, in which mode it is better to bake (since there is no Italian bread mode), the usual mode is 4 hours, the diet mode is 5 hours, I looked at the Panasonic 253 - he has an Italian mode of 4.5 hours, a little longer than the second dough rising ... which mode is better?

Olga A.
Yesterday I baked such bread. I added more cheese. In the process of mixing, I added more flour. And I added 0.5 tablespoons less oil, since the tomatoes were in oil. Baking in the main mode (4 hours). It turned out very tasty!

Today I baked Italian with tomatoes and cheese. It turned out just super. Thanks for the good recipe. The only thing I did not find was Italian tomatoes, I decided to replace them with dry tomatoes (not drenched in oil), which I bought at the market in the place where they sell spices. The result exceeded expectations. The family ate the roll in an instant. I had to put it again in the morning.

We also do not sell dried or sun-dried tomatoes in oil and whole. Therefore, I bought dried chopped tomatoes from Caucasians on the market, and added a spoonful of tomato paste to the main recipe for color. If I understood everything correctly, then the main recipe is focused on 750g of bread. Has risen in moderation, but the smell ... I'm going to pull it out.

My bread was the same with dried tomatoes and tomato paste. Only not very tall, but as it turned out not dense, rather porous. I probably overdid it with additives (I also added dried paprika and dried green onions). And this affected the height.

In general, the bread is very tasty (like all the others baked according to the recipes that Lola shares with us).

Thanks to the author !!! (y) I'll bake some more!

What do you say ... but nothing that at 660 watts in the third minute from the tomatoes there are embers?

Lola thank you very much for the recipe for this bread. Here's what a handsome man I have turned out.Italian bread with tomatoes and cheese (bread maker)

She baked the FRENCH BREAD program for 4 hours.
Since I did not find such dried tomatoes in stores, I used dry ones (I bought them from Tajiks who sell spices at the bazaar), I also added dry petals. red pepper, and 3 tbsp. l tomato. sauce "Mexicano" from Torchin. The cheese I had was Radomer. The bread has a pleasant spicy aroma, dense, slightly porous crumb, very tasty bread

Lola, thanks! very good recipe. My husband, perhaps, is his favorite. I baked it several times, though I increased the number of ingredients by another quarter and put less tomatoes - I have few of them
natamylove
and I had to replace the tomatoes with red sweet pepper, now it's autumn. The season is on them. There is moisture in the pepper, and therefore the bread is slightly fluffier than the original. And yet, I advise everyone, I added half a teaspoon of turmeric to the bread. She gave the bread a nice yellow tint. The bread is very tasty, although it differs from the original (there are no tomatoes in it), my apologies to the author, but I did not find any tomatoes.
strila
I found those same cherished tomatoes today, tomorrow I will bake!
How much is 2.5 cups? Different breads have different measuring cups ...
Lola
natamylove, no need to apologize, by creative search you got another bread recipe (I will be very glad to see your recipe for bread with sweet pepper and turmeric in a separate post) Good luck !!!

Shooting, the glass for my bread maker holds 240 ml.
Good luck !!! We are waiting for your creations

I was late with the answer, but the pictures remained.
Very nice and aromatic came out! Just approached my borschik!
Thanks for the recipe!
I have Moulinex 5004. Baking on "whole flour bread" mode. For the future, I will reduce the weight to 750 grams and the color of the crust is less.

: wow: oh girls, I also want a treat! And I have a bunch of dried tomatoes thanks to the Dachnik-4 dryer! Just answer all the same, in which mode is it better to bake on my stove - longer or not - there is no Italian mode ...

Lola!
I baked bread according to your recipe! Thank you very much! But questions arose along the way - when do you add tomatoes and cheese? Immediately or in the second stage of mixing? I had the feeling that I added a little late (at the 12th minute of the 2nd batch) and the tomatoes were poorly distributed - a lot was left on the edge ...

I really want to try baking! But 2 questions please practitioners help:

what is the weight of the loaf (I have 700 and 900 grams, which mode should I set?)?

can it be put on a delay, has anyone tried it?

Italian bread with tomatoes and cheese (bread maker)
Here is my bread for this recipe. I baked it on whey and cold dough (French mode with heating). I added my dried tomatoes, poured 2 tbsp into them before laying. l. olive oil. Regular hard cheese.
The resulting bread is very soft, tender and aromatic!
Thanks to the author for the recipe!
Lanochka
Elenka69, how do you dry tomatoes (sorry, what's off topic)?
Elenka
Lanochka, tomatoes were dried in an electric dryer. On this occasion I baked this bread. I have long wanted!

Girls, here is the recipe for Italian tomato bread from the instructions of my HP
Water or milk - 230 ml.
oil-2 tbsp. l.
1 egg
mashed boiled tomatoes-150 gr.
salt - 1.5 tsp
sugar - 3 tbsp. l.
flour-460 gr.
yeast-1 tsp

I will say right away, I have not tried it. But yesterday I bought a spice for pizza and dough in BOOM. I chose that there were no additions of salt and amplifiers. I add 1 tbsp. spoon. There are herbs, tomatoes, garlic and onions and something else. I poured it into a jar, and then threw away the packaging. Well, how did I know that it would be so tasty and beautiful?
Well, I recognize it by its packaging and its composition. I will write you later. I think many will like it.
little mouse
read the whole topic 2 times, explain when to put tomatoes and cheese after all?
Suslya
And your stove does not beep when additives need to be thrown?
little mouse
oh, right now I will write it in the profile
I have 255 panasonic with a dispensary
just at the beginning of the topic it is written all the ingredients to mix, that is, put it right away, and then someone writes that at some stage of the kneading to put it, so the question arose, I do not want to spoil the products

Eh, I didn't get some bread ...
Everything seemed to be made according to the recipe, only I have a Panasonic 256 stove, baked in the main mode with additives. At the very beginning, I noticed that the dough came out very steep. The spatula could hardly turn .... On a signal, he threw tomatoes and cheese. The bread turned out to be very unprepossessing outwardly, the roof is all reared, obviously it did not mix well ...
Put 450 grams of flour
I think maybe it was necessary to pour more milk or less flour?

Never strictly follow the author's requirement for flour and liquid!

This is your bread, your dough, and it requires its own proportion of flour and liquid!
Feel free to follow the kolobok rule, and adjust the dough kneading in the first kneading period.

Everything will work out

Especially for this bread, I dried tomatoes in a microwave oven and poured them with butter - a lot happened. Now I will try with sushona, I recently bought it. I liked it, and my grandmother too - the chief expert.

1.use the theme Help, nothing happens with bread !!! (Ambulance) - correctly describe the problems and give a photo of bread

1. study topics: and pay attention to the amount of liquid and flour in the dough when kneading.
The easiest white bread made from wheat flour
Wheat flour gingerbread man (master class)

3. How to test and activate yeast?

tadpole
bake in the oven, ferment the dough not in a bread machine, but in a separate form, then you will definitely see the rise of the dough, if the yeast is of poor quality or heavy ingredients in the composition, it may take more time to rise than the bread-making program requires.

Thanks for the recipe! I baked bread today according to your recipe. The only thing that changed - I put a little less sun-dried tomatoes, approx. 3 tbsp. l. chopped. The bread turned out very tasty, it smells like cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. I dried the tomatoes myself, prepared them in the summer especially for baking bread and salads. It turned out exactly the same as in Italy (I just got hooked on them there). The question is - can you have any cheese or is it recommended to Parmegiano? I have only one small minus - the crust turned out to be too fried. Next time I'll set the crust color to Light. Italian bread with tomatoes and cheese (bread maker)
