Fish soup in a double boiler

Ingredients

fresh fish (red and white)
shrimp
bulb onions
fresh carrots
potatoes
salt, spices

Cooking method

  • In a container for rice, we put little by little portions (not small, otherwise it will turn sour) white fish, red fish, large raw shrimps. Add a little onion, chopped carrots, raw potatoes, salt, spices, herbs, fill with water just to cover the fish, and in a double boiler for 25-30 minutes, control the readiness yourself with a fork. All! This makes only 2 servings.
  • Immediately I give a recipe for this soup in a saucepan with a thick bottom \ "Zepter type \", it will turn out more in volume, but the principle is the same - for a couple.
  • Place various fish, shrimps, potatoes, spices, etc. at the bottom of the pan (see above). Only on the very bottom first put vegetables, then fish, so that the vegetables begin to give water first and the fish does not burn. We close the lid, first we give a strong fire, so that the process of vaporization and the release of moisture and condensate starts inside, then when the steam starts, we turn down the fire to the lowest one and cook until the products are ready - about 20-25 minutes. check the readiness of the food, if ready, add boiling water directly from the kettle as much as you need until the soup thickens. Salt, pepper, a little dill, let it boil and that's it.
  • P. S. If, when placing food and the beginning of boiling, there is not enough moisture and the food begins to stick to the bottom, add a drop of hot water. The soup is cooked with the lid closed, otherwise there will be no steam formation.
  • This is what fish soup looks like when cooked in a double boiler.
  • Bon Appetit!

Wow, what a recipe, but I just noticed, so many topics appear, you do not have time to look through everything. You should definitely try (when all the ingredients are available at the same time).

Oh, Lena, it was a long time ago, the recipe is a hundred years old - apparently, during the alteration, it was "lost" in bread

Decent soup, cook it for health! I am interested in your opinion on the taste and method of such preparation

Tatyana, I made a soup. I cooked from salmon (without shrimps), added only onions, carrots and greens, I am not supposed to have potatoes today.
And to be honest, I don't really like potatoes in my ear.
I really liked the broth, it turned out with a richer taste when compared to the soup on the stove. Delicious!
Thanks for the recipe! She herself would never have guessed.

Girls, to your health!
Steamed and without unnecessary "gurgling" in the pan, the soups are very tasty - this should be noted

And thank you for finding this recipe in the bowels of the forum, I myself forgot to think about it, and so maybe someone else will cook this tasty treat, a soup worthy in all respects

Tatyana, I understand that the question I’ll ask you now is probably very stupid, but still, I understand correctly what to pour boiling water over?

If you cook the soup in a double boiler, then fill it with cold water, otherwise the fish will steam up and be ready, and everything else will be raw - with a long cooking, the fish will creep and will not taste good. And so, with cold water, both potatoes and fish will be cooked at the same time.

If in a saucepan with a thick bottom, then under the steam both fish and vegetables will quickly cook, so for the broth we pour hot water from a kettle, bring to a boil, cook for 1-2 minutes so that the liquid and the rest become friends with taste and can be removed from heat

I will buy fish only with shrimps and cook. The simplicity of preparation and excellent results are very impressive! Thank you, Tanya! You are, as always, in your "tasty" repertoire!

Oh, and shrimp to peel or not?

I peel the shrimp so that I do not use my hands to fish it out of the cleaning plate.
