Colombian paella (vegetarian)

Ingredients

Small vermicelli pinch
Bulb onions 1 piece large
Carrot 2 pcs medium
sweet pepper (preferably red or yellow, but today there was only green) 1 piece large
Garlic 4-5 teeth
Polka dots. corn grains and green beans (better fresh, but where can you find enough - I take ice cream)
Olive oil (always olive oil!)
Rice 2 cups
Water 2.5 cups

Cooking method

  • First, I set the kukuhu on the "nurungchi" (toasting) mode, increasing the heating stage to 3x. I did not take the amplifying option. because I usually clean and cut along the way, and she fries too quickly.
  • I poured a little oil and filled up the vermicelli, turned on the mode, did not close the cover. just turned the handle.

  • For the time being, I peeled the onion and cut a quarter into rings, and grated the carrots on a coarse grater. A minute later, the vermicelli became like this:

  • Tady covered onions and carrots

  • While roasting, peeled and cut the pepper into small cubes. When it was browned (I did not control the time, I got used to acting according to circumstances), I threw in pepper

  • Such a volume is already not very convenient to fry. Moreover, it has an adaptive mode, it reduces the power when it begins to fry. Standing and interfering with the code is annoying, but if you move away, it will not burn out so quickly. When the pepper is slightly fried, turned it off. I threw in chopped garlic, peas and corn (the beans were over now).

  • Then 2 cups of rice (I like long grain)
  • Colombian paella (vegetarian)
  • I poured 3 cups of water (it turned out to be a bit too much, next time I'll take 2.5) and put it on the "mixture of rice with cereals" mode (I suspect it is "oven", since it is adjustable) at the default settings, that is. 1 option 1, second 1 and preset temperature.

  • After 15 minutes, she pumped and put 18 minutes to the end. In 18 minutes everything was ready.

Note

It turned out delicious, but "as usual", no: "Wah, it can't be!" as it was when I cooked empty rice for sample. Next time I will reduce the water and increase the "heating time", or maybe I will do it in the first mode.

And yes, I know that the birthplace of paella is Valencia, and Colombia, like this recipe, from the original, is on the other side of the world. But my Colombian relatives taught me this way, so another name is not invented right away.

Oh, how great !! I'll have to try it too. And if you add meat, it won't be paella anymore? And then mine without meat will not recognize anything.
Deyrdre
Duc it is real with meat (chicken) and is. Just fry the meat before the noodles, then add to the saucepan before the rice and water, and there will be paella with meat

And what does vermicelli give in this dish? Doesn't it become limp? Or should you eat it immediately after cooking?
Deyrdre
It gives the taste of fried vermicelli. Well, it looks beautiful - brown on a white background. No, does not turn sour (pre-fried). Fresh, of course, tastes better, but nothing happens to noodles on the second or third day, but the rice sticks together and loses its taste

Thanks for the recipe, I'll try. Then unsubscribe!

What an unusual recipe ...

Deyrdre I'm going to cook your dish in the Multicooker now. Tell me, do you have fresh peas and corn? I have canned ones, I'm afraid that they will boil, can I add them when the rice is cooked with fried? or will it be wrong? Tell me please!
Deyrdre
I have ice cream peas with corn. Earlier (when peas only existed in cans) they tried with canned peas, I didn't really care. Peas are boiled and it is undesirable to store the finished dish. Although, if you eat it right away, it's not so scary. It doesn't make much sense to add to the ready-made, everything will be separate, like in a salad. In principle, you can not put peas with corn at all, the taste is also nothing, although simpler, of course. At your discretion

Deyrdre Thanks for the interesting recipe! ... I did cook it. A vegetarian friend was supposed to come to the room, and I nevertheless decided to put canned food instead of frozen ones, since there were no others. The corn was hard, I was even delighted, the peas were softer. In the end, everything turned out great!
The rice is crumbly, the pot is not cooked, and the corn has reached the required condition. Special thanks for the idea of 2 tbsp. rice and 3 tablespoons of water.
