Marinated cucumbers Aunt Margita

Ingredients

Dill umbrellas
Garlic 2-3 teeth
Carnation 2-3 pcs.
Sugar 2 tbsp. l. with a slide (50 g)
Salt 1 tbsp. l. without slide (12 g)
Vinegar 9% 60 g

Cooking method

  • Ingredients are indicated per liter can.

  • Wash the cans, put the dill umbrellas on the bottom, so that they cover the bottom, cut the garlic into slices. We put plump cucumbers.
  • Then we throw 2-3 cloves into each jar (required!). We fill in sugar, salt, pour vinegar and fill it to the top with tap water.
  • Cover with sterile lids and sterilize in water until the bottom layer of cucumbers changes color. As the lower cucumbers darkened - roll up the jar. Turn over until it cools. All.

I have not yet met a person who would not like our cucumbers. We have been using this recipe for many years. They took the recipe from my mother's aunt, whose everything is always stupidly tasty (God grant her health for many more years).

No, I was not mistaken. This is a recipe. Vinegar balances the amount of sugar. Give less sugar and vinegar - and it will be completely different cucumbers. Probably, this is the whole trick of these awesome delicious cucumbers.

Everything is correct in the recipe, you can be sure. If this were some ordinary recipe with the usual proportions, I would not post it here.

Once upon a time, my ex-mother-in-law also shoved a carnation into everything that was possible and I already thought that I was allergic to mother-in-law cloves, but when my beloved grandmother advised me to add a couple of things when pickling mushrooms, I listened to her. The result is superb, only you need literally 2-3 things per 1 liter can - the cloves are very sharp. In general, the recipe is super! Many thanks to the hostess. And I want to give advice to those who are afraid to sterilize this way - I usually fill the jar with boiling water 2 times, pour salt-sugar-vinegar on the third, pour it with boiling water and roll it up.

What I want to say, we put a tomato for the general taste, the tomatoes themselves according to this recipe do not taste very good, at least we do not like it. Maybe just for an amateur. But everything else in the bank is super.

And I also want to note that assorted cucumbers taste somewhat different than if you close the cucumbers separately. Because the assorted mixes a lot of tastes. So, if you start with a platter, then do not think that you already know the taste of cucumbers according to this recipe. Separately, cucumbers are much tastier (personally for my taste).

Horseradish and currant leaves give their taste. The amount of sugar is balanced here by the amount of vinegar. You have reduced the sugar, I can hardly imagine the result, to be honest.
