Cabbage pudding (+ video)


White cabbage 1 kg
Onion 1 PC
Baton 5lt.
Egg 2 pcs
Ground crackers 5st. l.
Milk 0.5 stack.
Salt, pepper, nutmeg taste

Cooking method

Coarsely chop the cabbage and boil in salted water.
Finely chop the onion and fry. Soak the loaf in milk. Pass all this through a meat grinder or blender.
Add yolks, crackers, salt, spices to the minced meat. Mix.
Add whites, whipped into a stiff foam, and fold into the mixture.
Grease the form with butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, put the cabbage mass into it and smooth. Cover with foil.
Place in a larger hot water dish. Bake in the oven for 1 hour. Serve hot or with sour cream, or drizzle with melted butter and breadcrumbs.


Another recipe from the book Festive Table. This pudding is offered as a second course on the summer lunch menu.
Unusual taste and appearance, like cabbage, but as if with meat. I think it's because of the rye rusks. I ate it both hot and cold. Tasty for everyone. Hot it was tender and "lively", and cold was already cut like a pie.
